About DFH Commercial DFH Commercial is a specialized Division 8 distributor serving commercial construction projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Founded in 2015 by four experienced industry professionals, the company has grown to more than 30 employees while building its business around long-term relationships, repeat customers, and strong project execution.
Headquartered in Lorton, Virginia, DFH provides commercial doors, frames, and hardware for projects across the country. Our team works with a broad range of manufacturers, general contractors, owners, and industry partners to deliver complete Division 8 solutions.
The Opportunity We’re looking for a Project Manager to join our Northern Virginia headquarters and manage commercial door, frame, and hardware projects from contract award through completion.
This is a hands-on role for someone who understands commercial construction, takes ownership of their projects, and knows how to build strong relationships with customers and vendors. You’ll have the support of an established team, access to a broad product offering, and significant earning potential tied directly to your performance.

Our leadership team understands the demands of the position and the support required to manage projects successfully.
What You’ll DoAs a Project Manager, you’ll take ownership of projects from contract award through delivery and completion. Your responsibilities will include:Reviewing and interpreting contract documents, architectural drawings, and specifications for commercial door, frame, and hardware scopesPerforming material takeoffs and preparing accurate, complete submittal packages for architect reviewNegotiating contract values and scopes of work with general contractors and ownersWriting and tracking material orders through production and shippingCoordinating deliveries with field and installation teamsManaging relationships with existing customers, vendors, and subcontractorsTroubleshooting issues on active projects and developing solutions that keep work movingManaging multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, communication, and schedule
DFH works with all major manufacturers, giving our project managers broad product access and the flexibility to develop the right solution for each project.
What This Role Is — and Isn’t This is not a cold-sales position. Our estimating team bids and secures the work; our Project Managers take ownership once the project is awarded.
Your focus will be on executing projects well, maintaining strong customer relationships, and identifying opportunities to grow existing business. Previous business development experience is a plus, but cold prospecting is not a core responsibility of this position.
What You Bring We’re looking for someone who is organized, accountable, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and able to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Ideally, you’ll have:3+ years of experience in commercial door, frame, and hardware estimating or project management; strongly preferredAlternatively, 3+ years of commercial construction estimating or project management experienceExperience reading architectural drawings, specifications, and contract documentsStrong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple active projects at onceProficiency with Microsoft OfficeExperience with Comsense ERP is a plus, but not requiredReliable transportation and the ability to work full-time from our Lorton officeU.S. citizenship and the ability to pass a background check
