I'm recruiting an auto defense attorney in Fort Lauderdale on behalf of an insurance defense firm. It's hybrid, it's 1,950 billable hours, and the pay runs from $125,000 to $200,000.
Here's what the files involve:• Motor vehicle claims, from minor impacts to serious injury and wrongful death exposure• Liability investigations: scene evidence, black box downloads, phone records, witness statements• Depositions of drivers, treating providers, biomechanical engineers and reconstruction experts• Your own hearings, your own mediations and real trial work• Daily contact with adjusters who want a straight evaluation, not a hedge
To be considered:• Florida Bar membership• 2+ years of litigation experience• Sound judgment about which cases to try and which to resolve, and the nerve to tell a client which is which
The salary range is broad on purpose. A mid level associate will find it fair, and an attorney with a decade of auto defense behind them won't be underpaid. Experienced lawyers get the bigger exposure files, lead trial work, mentor the attorneys coming up behind them and own client relationships.
