POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Coordinator for Womens Hospital is responsible for the Perinatal Quality review and other quality reviews for the Womens Hospital team and for processing and formulating short term and long term strategies to ensure that the organizations vision, mission and values are carried out through the delivery of high quality cost effective patient care for the service line with a high level of integrity.
POSITION EDUCATION/ QUALIFICATIONS :
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing required
- Current registered nurse license in good standing in the State of Texas
- Current BLS certification
- One (1) Two ( 2 ) years of progress nursing experience, preferred.
- The successful candidate will be required to pass competencies for this position.
- Good written and verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of nursing, administration, and physicians.
- Must be able to be sensitive to cultural and bilingual issues.
JOB KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE :
- Minimum of five ( 5 ) years of hospital experience in a progressively responsible position requiring contact with various departments, clinical practice in perinatal preferred
- Understands concepts of case reviews, time lines, data analysis, performance improvement, and research and is able to collaboratively coordinate performance improvement initiatives of both process and outcome data. .
- Excellent customer service skills.
Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, clinical documentation systems.
Experience in quality assurance and performance improvement activities preferred
- Highly organized
- Good written and verbal communication skills required.
- Bilingual preferred English/Spanish
Responsibilities:
POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:
- Promotes the facility mission, vision and values by effectively communicating them to others. Considers mission, vision and values in developing services, standards and practices.
- Coordinates with the directors and prepares for the regular reporting of case reviews, time lines, and quality trends from case review data.
Assures continuous tracking of trend and quality data, monitors ongoing data integrity processes
- Prepares and analyzes data and makes recommendations for improvement. Immediately addresses any discrepancies. Analyzes complex and critical data, recommends remedial action.
Coordinates development and preparation of all correspondence with physicians, and staff to communicate outcomes from QRT.
Tracks and trends outcomes
Collates and submits data to the leadership team and hospital departments as requested.
Responsible for supporting management, staff, to achieve and maintain accreditation and regulatory compliance within womens hospital with emphasis in perinatal Services. Assists in the preparation of action plans.
Prepares and maintains data./materials/documents

- Actively participate on assigned committees.
- Assists in the research and development of new patient care protocols and provides staff support for research activities.
- Completes special assignments as assigned.

B. Working Conditions : The individual spends over 95% of his/her time in an air-conditioned environment with varying exposures to noise. There is protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The position does have low exposure to malodorous, infectious body fluids from patients and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleansing agents.
C. Occupational Exposure: This position has minimal to no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues and is an OSHA Category III (although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids). Person who performs these duties are not called upon as part of their employment to perform or assist in emergency medical care or first aid or to be potentially exposed in some other way.
