A Locums Neonatologist Is Needed in VA

• Shared call model -- 1:3 ratio as team expands (low call burden)
• Average census: 10 - 13 patients; Level III (B) acuity, 25 weeks and up
• Team model: 1 neonatologist + 1 NNP per shift
• NNPs conduct daily rounds -- neonatologist leads assessments and planning
• Grower/feeder focus -- ventilation support, no surgical cases onsite
• Procedures: umbilical lines, intubations, occasional chest tubes
