Job Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations in the hose manufacturing facility, ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining quality, safety, and cost standards. The role involves supervising shop floor personnel, monitoring machine performance, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily production activities to ensure production schedules are met.
• Monitor hose manufacturing processes, including mixing, extrusion, reinforcement, vulcanization, braiding/spiraling, curing, cutting, and finishing.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and customer specifications.
• Allocate manpower effectively and manage shift operations.
• Monitor machine performance and coordinate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
• Ensure proper use of raw materials and reduce process waste.
• Maintain production records, shift reports, and KPI dashboards.
• Enforce workplace safety, housekeeping (5S), and environmental standards.
• Conduct shift meetings and communicate production priorities.
• Train, coach, and evaluate production operators and technicians.
• Investigate production issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Coordinate with Quality, Planning, Stores, Maintenance, and Dispatch departments.
• Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, and continuous improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with ISO, customer, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Polymer, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience in a hose manufacturing, rubber, polymer, or automotive manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience supervising production teams is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of rubber compounding and hose manufacturing processes.
• Experience with extrusion, braiding, spiraling, curing/vulcanization, and finishing operations.
• Understanding of production planning and scheduling.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and product specifications.
• Familiarity with quality tools, SPC, CAPA, and root cause analysis.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, and TPM.

• Industrial rubber hoses
• Automotive hoses
• PVC hoses
• Composite or thermoplastic hoses

Authority

The Production Supervisor is authorized to:

• Assign manpower and production priorities.
• Stop production for safety or major quality concerns.
• Recommend disciplinary actions and performance improvements.
• Approve shift-level production documentation.
