The Payroll/Onboarding Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Alsip, IL. This role is responsible for end-to-end payroll processing for multi-location restaurant and manufacturing operations, including accurate and timely entry of hours, wages, and deductions. The specialist manages new hire onboarding, ensuring completion of employment documentation, system setup, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include handling garnishments, coordinating with payroll service providers, reconciling payroll reports, auditing time entries, responding to temporary agency emails, and other duties and tasks as assigned. The role also assists managers and employees with payroll and onboarding inquiries, maintains confidential employee records, and supports process improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency.Salary: 60,000-63,000 a yearQualificationsCandidates should possess strong skills in Payroll Processing and Payroll Services for multi-location operations.Candidates should possess knowledge of Payroll Taxes and related compliance requirements.Candidates should possess experience in Payroll Administration, including employee data management and recordkeeping.Candidates should possess expertise in handling Garnishments and other specialized payroll deductions.Must have experience with HRIS or payroll software (Paylocity is a plus), strong attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools.Strong organizational skills, ability to manage sensitive information with discretion, and clear written and verbal communication.Experience in restaurant, hospitality, or manufacturing environments is a plus.Must be proficient in English and Spanish both verbally and written.Physical RequirementsProlonged hours of sitting at a deskStrong visual acuity to review detailed financial data on a computer screen for prolonged hours.Requires talking and hearing clearly for verbal and written communication with staffLight walking to the production floor to verify hours
