Colby Community College (CCC) invites applications for a full-time Financial Aid Counselor to assist students and family in understanding, applying for, and receiving financial assistance.
Salary Range
The compensation package for this full-time, hourly position will be $19.50 per hour.
The selected candidate will also be eligible to participate in the College's health, dental, and vision plan, as well as the State of Kansas KPERS retirement system. This position is also eligible for relocation/moving expenses up to $2,000.
Qualifications
- 0 - 6 months experience working in a finance related position, dealing with customers, and working with a large number of regulations or procedures is highly preferred.
- Associate's Degree is required.
Essential DutiesThe below list of essential duties is a snapshot of what the position entails:
- Advise students and families on financial aid programs, eligibility requirements, and application procedures.
- Provide individualized assistance with FAFSA completion, verification, and documentation processes.
- Evaluate student eligibility for federal, state, and institutional financial aid in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Counsel students on financial literacy, loan management, and repayment responsibilities.
- Conduct workshops and presentations to increase awareness of aid opportunities and financial wellness.
- Collaborate with other campus departments to ensure clear communication throughout the financial aid process.
- Assist with reporting, reconciliation, and compliance audits.
- Ensure accurate data entry and file maintenance within the College's student information and financial aid system.
- Create and distribute informational materials to assist students in navigating financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
