Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Texas license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <75 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

In order to receive the travel rate, clinician’s claimed residence must match the address on the driver’s license. Ascension Health does not accept vaccine/Tdap declinations.

Special Requests: Current Ascension employees cannot apply for travel roles. Candidates must have employment separation for at least 6 months to be considered for a travel position.

Required Skills/Experience: Cardiac-trained RNs required.

Required Credentials: Driver’s license is required for RN/LPN/PTs working on a compact license. Ascension EKG Exam required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80%, 2 attempts allowed. Ascension Specialty Exam required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80% or national benchmark passing score, 2 attempts allowed. Ascension Core Competencies required during onboarding; minimum passing score of 80% or national benchmark passing score, 2 attempts allowed.

Unit Details: Care for patients with significant cardiac history and related conditions. Patient population includes chest pain, congestive heart failure, advanced heart failure, syncope, and patients requiring echocardiograms, stress tests, and diagnostic and interventional heart catheterization. Procedures include MitraClip, Watchman, Tykosyn initiation, and TAVR. May help precept new hires and RN residents. May care for general med/surg overflow and other non-cardiac patients as needed.

Floating Requirements: First to float primarily to one of five other med/surg units, typically staffed at 5:1 guidelines.
