Job Title: Urgent Care Practitioner (UCP) / Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)Band / Grade: 7Location: Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) – ROMFORDSalary:Day shifts: £35.00 per hour
Nights & Saturdays: £44.00 per hour
Sundays & Bank Holidays: £50.00 per hourDescription: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Urgent Care Practitioner (UCP) / Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to work within NHS Urgent Treatment Centres. This locum agency role offers ADHOC weekday, night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts, providing excellent flexibility.The role is available ASAP and is inside IR35.The post holder will work autonomously, assessing, diagnosing, and managing patients presenting with minor injuries and minor illness, in line with Trust policies, NICE guidance, and professional codes of conduct.Essential Criteria – MUST HAVECurrent NMC registration (RN12)Proven experience working autonomously in UTC / Walk-in Centre / ED streamingMinor Injury experienceSuturing competencyPlaster of Paris applicationAbility to independently interpret X-raysExperience assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing minor illness and injuryNHS experience within a similar roleClinical Competencies RequiredAutonomous clinical practice and accountabilityTop-to-toe health assessmentMinor Illness and Minor Injury modulesReferral to X-ray and X-ray interpretationSuturing and plasteringIRMER / Red Dot trainingECG interpretationWound care (general)IM and SC medication administrationSuture and staple removalDesirableNon-Medical Prescribing qualification (or ability to work under PGDs)Phlebotomy / VenepunctureWhy work with Athona?We are one of the UK's leading on-framework healthcare recruitment agencies.
