Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Data Steward to help build practical, enterprise-wide data governanceacross business domains and a modern AWS/Databricks ecosystem.You will partner with business Data Owners, Product, Privacy, and Engineering teams to translatebusiness needs into clear ownership, trusted definitions, data contracts, quality standards, and scalablecontrols—ensuring critical data is trustworthy and fit for reporting, analytics, and AI.
What You’ll Own
Partner with business Data Owners and subject-matter experts to establish data ownership,critical data elements, business definitions, glossaries, data dictionaries, and metadata.Define data contracts and quality expectations, including SLAs, schema-change controls, andproducer-consumer accountability.Classify PII and sensitive data and translate privacy, access, retention, and permitted-userequirements into practical controls.Maintain end-to-end business and technical lineage across source systems, pipelines, andanalytical data products.Lead governance discussions, prioritize issues based on business impact, and coordinateremediation of material data-quality concerns.Embed consistent governance standards, measurable controls, and stewardship practices intoAWS and Databricks modernization initiatives.
What You’ll Bring
7+ yrs of experience in data governance, data stewardship, data quality, or data management.Experience building or maturing governance capabilities, not just operating establishedprocesses.Strong knowledge of metadata, lineage, data classification, privacy, access governance, dataquality, and data contracts.Working knowledge of SQL, data profiling, root-cause analysis, and modern cloud platforms.Experience with an enterprise data catalog or governance platform such as Databricks UnityCatalog, Collibra, Alation, or Informatica.Strong facilitation and stakeholder-management skills across business, Product, Engineering,Privacy, Cybersecurity, Risk, and executive teams.
Preferred Experience
Hands-on exposure to Databricks, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and AWS.Experience with media and streaming domains such as content, audience, advertising,subscriptions, customer identity, or digital engagement.Experience supporting large-scale cloud modernization and governed analytics or AI use cases.
