Job Description
RAIN is seeking an experienced Vice President to lead and oversee the Retail and Hypermarket Operations- Hyderabad of Arunachala Logistics Pvt Ltd.
The Vice President-Business Operations is responsible for managing overall Retail Stores and Hypermarket operations, P&L, Category Management, meeting annual sales targets, monitoring stock levels, increasing sales to maximize profitability while reducing costs through well managed operational controls and synchronizing the operations of all the different verticals responsible for the store.
Roles & Responsibilities :
1. Strategy Development and Execution: To elevate the performance of the retail business by new strategies and evolve key priorities in line with performance. Develop strategies to enhance the business and optimize profitability while identifying opportunities for growth and new business investments. Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to create effective marketing displays for the sales floor and E Commerce windows. Oversee selection the best vendors to supply products and services based on criteria such as price, quality, and delivery time.
2. Category Management: Develop, implement and monitor pricing strategies that optimize revenue, margin, and market share for the product categories. Manage and involvement in assortment planning to ensure products are aligned with customer needs and preferences and meet the organization's quality and pricing standards. Analyse pricing data, consumer behaviour, and market trends to make recommendations for product assortment and pricing through market benchmarks.
3. Profitability and P&L Management: Increase sales to maximize profitability while reducing costs through well managed operational controls through accurate analysis and support. Propose measures to improve operational performance and analyse trends and sales figures to facilitate planning and forecast future sales. Meet financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, managing expenditures, and analysing discrepancies.
4. Retail Store Operations: Prepare and control the store’s budget aiming for minimum expenditure and efficiency. Monitor stock levels and updates on daily basis Store Staff and regular visit stores to understand ground realities. Ensure the store fulfils all legal and safety guidelines. Maintain inventory levels and coordinate with category teams for replenishment of stocks. Visual merchandising standards. Identifying new locations and store launches. Customer Loyalty programmes to promote customer retention strategies.
5. Digital Marketing and E Commerce Operations: Provide insights on customer shopping trends to support assortment selection and identify assortment gaps. Work closely with demand forecasting and warehousing teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment and delivery. Ensure to work with developers, marketing team and digital marketers to improve quality, speed of website, website uptime and traffic acquisition.
6. Inventory Management: Ensure maintenance of adequate stock levels & to facilitate easy access to products and efficient order picking: standardized storage methods, labelling systems, and automated picking systems. Leverage data analysis and market research to forecast demand for their products accurately. Ensure prompt stock replenishment by monitoring safety stock levels regularly and adjust basis on sales data and market conditions. Monitor inventory performance to identify areas for improvement. Analysing inventory turnover, identifying slow-moving products, and developing strategies to reduce inventory holding costs.
7 People Management: Manpower planning and hiring strategies. Motivate and train the staff for better performance inventive pays and programmes.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise MBA/PGDM in Marketing/Strategic Management/Business Operations 20 -25 years of experience in large FMCG Food and General Merchandising in Hyper markets. Age between 45 -50 years Willingness and ability to travel occasionally Should be a team player Excellent Communication and negotiation Skills Ability to think out of the box, innovate ideas Fluency in English, Hindi, Telegu (desirable)
