At Surgical Care Riverside, Operating Room nurses play a central role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care in a setting built for focused workflows and strong work-life balance.
This is an opportunity for an RN who enjoys the pace of the OR, values procedural excellence, and wants a role with consistent weekday hours, no nights, no call, no weekends, and no holidays . You will support a high-efficiency surgical team in a standalone facility just a few miles from UVA Healths main hospital, with a case mix heavily focused on ophthalmology and additional exposure to multiple surgical specialties.
The Role
As an OR RN at Surgical Care Riverside, you will provide perioperative nursing care in an ambulatory surgical setting where collaboration, preparation, and clinical focus matter. Nurses in this role perform both scrub and circulating responsibilities , giving experienced perioperative clinicians the opportunity to stay hands-on across the full surgical workflow.
This role is especially appealing for nurses who enjoy efficient ambulatory surgery, thrive in a coordinated team environment, and want a schedule that supports life outside the hospital. The schedule is four 10-hour shifts per week, 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM , with free onsite parking and a convenient Charlottesville location.
In an average day, you can expect to:
Provide safe, efficient perioperative care in a standalone surgery center environment
Perform both scrub and circulate functions across scheduled procedures
Support a high-volume surgical workflow with a strong focus on ophthalmology procedures
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and perioperative teammates
Prepare rooms, support patient readiness, maintain sterile technique, and contribute to efficient turnover
Work within a compact surgical setting that includes 4 operating rooms and 1 procedure room
Build expertise in ophthalmology while staying connected to a broader procedural skill set through additional surgical services

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
