Our SE Region is seeking experienced Pipeline Facilities Engineers to sit in our Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, or Chattanooga, TN offices and be responsible for overseeing engineering and consulting services for pipeline facilities for clients across the US. Main responsibilities include leading others in creating pipeline design deliverables. Projects range in size and complexity from district regulators to metering & regulating stations and transmission-level interconnects. Depending on applicants' experience and interests, projects could include compressor stations, gas storage facilities, and gas-upgrading equipment at Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facilities. This position can influence the growth and success of the Pipelines group. Opportunities to advance into leadership roles are available.
Pipeline Engineer may include full or partial responsibility for the following assignments:
Lead in the execution of engineering activities:
Pipeline facilities design, including PFDs, P&IDs, details, and associated bill of materials
Pipeline facility design (metering and regulating stations, storage field upgrades, and compressor stations), including plans, sections, and details and associated bill of materials
Coordination to obtain survey, geotechnical investigations, permitting, and land acquisition.
Calculations for studies and reports
Material and equipment specifications for procurement and/or factory acceptance testing
Lead in preparation of proposals and scope development, including:
Conceptual designs and execution plans
Engineering/project cost estimates and schedules
Lead coordination of design activities with other disciplines (Civil/Structural, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control, etc.)
Develop and improve processes, tools, and/or factory acceptance testing
Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members
Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel
Provide short-term field support during construction
Support business development and marketing initiatives
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or a related degree from an ABET-accredited program, and 7 years of pipeline engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.
Or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering Technology or related degree from an ABET-accredited program, successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 7 years of pipeline engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.
Or Master's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering and 6 years of pipeline engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.
Expert knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures. Strong computer skills (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, ATF).
Proficiency with 49 CFR Part 192 and ASME B31.8
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with leading the discipline design for large projects and delegating work tasks to team members. Ability to lead execution of work and resolve issues in a team environment.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
Ability to travel.
Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred.
