About the Role
The role will be based in Bangalore, India report to the Director, Sourcing Capability Development. This position drives sourcing capability across supply assurance, manufacturing excellence, and supplier ecosystem development, building a resilient and scalable sourcing network that supports business continuity and growth.
The role partners with cross-functional teams and suppliers to embed risk management, Lean-driven manufacturing practices, and continuous improvement across the sourcing lifecycle. It combines strategic thinking with execution, using data-driven insights and strong stakeholder influence to enhance supplier performance, improve operational efficiency, and deliver sustainable supply chain outcomes.
About the Team
The Sourcing team partners cross-functionally with Global Merchants, Product Developers, Compliance, and an expansive network of global manufacturing networks. The team focuses on scaling end-to-end supply chain strategies, establishing robust quality governance frameworks, and driving operational efficiency across the General Merchandising portfolio. By prioritizing trusted supplier relationships, advanced data analytics, and an "Every Day Low-Cost" mindset, the team builds a highly resilient, agile manufacturing ecosystem that champions private brand safety, innovation, and exceptional value for millions of customers.
What you’ll do
Surety of Supply
- Drive end-to-end supply assurance by developing robust sourcing strategies, including supplier diversification, dual/multi-sourcing, and upstream capability building.
- Design and implement structured risk management frameworks (e.g., supply continuity plans, scenario planning, and mitigation strategies) to proactively identify and address supply disruptions.
- Partner with category, sourcing, and supply chain teams to embed supply assurance into sourcing decisions, supplier selection, and business planning.
- Establish proactive monitoring mechanisms (e.g., supplier health dashboards, risk signals, and early warning systems) to ensure uninterrupted product availability.
- Lead crisis response and escalation management for supply interruptions, ensuring rapid containment and recovery.
Manufacturing Excellence
- Lead manufacturing capability development across suppliers through the deployment of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Drive adoption of advanced manufacturing practices such as automation, digitization, and smart factory initiatives to improve productivity and scalability.
- Define, standardize, and govern factory performance frameworks, including KPIs, audit systems, and operational SOPs to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Conduct supplier and factory assessments to identify gaps in quality, capacity, and process maturity, and prescribe improvement roadmaps.
- Lead cost optimization, yield improvement, and waste reduction initiatives across manufacturing operations.
- Build supplier capability through structured coaching, training programs, and on-site enablement to elevate operational maturity and performance.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing sourcing organization, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Champion an inclusive and performance-driven environment that enables innovation and execution excellence.
- Strengthen organizational capability and succession readiness to support long-term growth and transformation.
What you’ll bring
- 12–15+ years of experience in sourcing, supplier development, manufacturing, or supply chain, with a strong track record in driving supply resilience and operational excellence.
- Deep expertise in supplier lifecycle management, including qualification, capability development, and performance optimization across diverse and global sourcing markets.
- Strong understanding of supply assurance practices, including risk identification, mitigation frameworks, dual sourcing strategies, and continuity planning.
- Proven experience in manufacturing excellence initiatives, leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, automation, and continuous improvement methodologies to drive measurable impact.
- Ability to analyze complex supplier and manufacturing data, translate insights into actionable strategies, and influence senior stakeholders through clear recommendations.
- Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional partnerships and navigating complex stakeholder environments across sourcing, quality, compliance, and supply chain teams.
- Experience in building and scaling supplier ecosystems, including MSME development and capability enablement programs.
- Strong program management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, drive execution, and deliver results in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Accomplished people leader with experience in coaching teams, building capabilities, and fostering a high-performance, transformation-oriented culture.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field.
- 15+ years of experience in sourcing, supplier development, manufacturing, or supply chain.
- 5+ years of experience leading global or multi-region teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or equivalent advanced degree.
- Experience across global sourcing markets, including but not limited to South Asia, SEA, and the Americas.
- Strong background in Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or operational excellence.
