Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Data Engineer with strong experience in building scalable data solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate should have hands-on expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines and data architectures using Azure-native tools.
Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure services
Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Synapse Analytics
Work with structured and unstructured data for ingestion, transformation, and storage
Implement data solutions using Azure Data Lake, Blob Storage, and SQL Database
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to support analytics use cases
Perform data modeling (both relational and dimensional models)
Ensure data quality, governance, and security best practices
Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance
Implement CI/CD pipelines and automation for data workflows
Required Experience (Minimum 5+ Years)
5+ years in Data Engineering / Data Warehousing / Big Data
At least 3+ years of hands-on experience in Azure Data Platform
Strong experience with:
Azure Data Factory (ADF)
Azure Synapse Analytics / SQL Data Warehouse
Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS Gen2)
Experience in ETL/ELT pipeline development
Proficiency in SQL and Python or Py Spark
Hands-on experience with big data processing frameworks (Spark preferred)
Experience in designing data warehouses, data marts, and lakehouse architectures
Familiarity with Dev Ops practices (Azure Dev Ops, CI/CD pipelines)
Mandatory Certifications
Candidates must possess the following certifications :
Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203) (Highly Mandatory / Preferred)
Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900) + relevant project experience
Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate / Professional
Required Skills
Azure Data Services: ADF, Synapse, ADLS, Databricks
Programming: Python / Py Spark / SQL
Data processing: Batch & streaming
Data modeling and warehousing concepts
Experience with Power BI (nice to have)
Strong debugging and performance tuning skills
Knowledge of data security and governance
Soft Skills
Strong communication skills (essential for remote work)
Ability to work in global teams across UK/US stakeholders
Problem-solving mindset
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Candidate Profile
Immediate joiners or candidates with short notice period (≤15 days)
Experience working in international client environments
Prior experience in remote/distributed teams
Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies
