Job Title: Mechanical Engineer IILocation: Huntsville, AL 35806Duration: 6 Months Contract with ExtSecurity Clearance: Secret Required or Eligible to obtain
Key Responsibilities:Perform structural and mechanical design using SolidWorks CAD software.Generate detailed engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5 standards.Develop and maintain technical data packages in compliance with MIL-STD-31000.Create 3D parts and assemblies in CAD and produce fully detailed 2D engineering drawings.Conduct engineering trade studies and research Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) components to support design and component selection.Apply knowledge of military-specification (MIL-SPEC) fasteners, materials, and hardware.Design and develop mechanical weldments in accordance with applicable engineering requirements.Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to support hardware fabrication and resolve design-related issues.Support hardware integration, installation, testing, and validation activities as needed.Utilize CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software to manage design data and engineering documentation.
Required QualificationsExperience with SolidWorks or similar mechanical CAD software.Knowledge of engineering drawing standards, including ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5.Familiarity with technical data package requirements and MIL-STD-31000.Experience with mechanical parts, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings. xzbcwsv Knowledge of MIL-SPEC fasteners, engineering materials, and weldment design.Ability to collaborate effectively
