Known for our entrepreneurial spirit, we have a strong culture rooted in trust, integrity, open communication, and respect, and we make it a point to use good judgment, fairness, and common sense to meet our challenges. Attracting top talent who can thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, family-oriented, efficient, and team-focused environment contributes to our success.
Job Overview: The Builder at Park Square Homes is responsible for the full-cycle management of residential home construction — from groundbreaking through closing — across an assigned community or area. This role requires complete ownership of construction schedule, quality, budget, trade partner performance, and the homeowner experience on the job site. The Builder serves as the primary point of accountability on the ground, ensuring every home is delivered on time, built to code, and reflective of the Park Square Homes commitment to quality and customer care.
Key Responsibilities:
Construction Execution & Quality
- Lead the successful delivery of homes through all phases of construction, taking full ownership of schedule, quality, and budget outcomes from groundbreaking through closing.
- Ensure every home is built in strict conformance with all applicable building codes and Park Square Homes' quality standards, conducting thorough inspections at each phase to identify and resolve deficiencies before they impact the buyer experience or closing schedule.
- Partner with the Design Center to identify and resolve blueprint errors and design conflicts proactively, preventing downstream schedule and cost impacts.
- Collaborate with Estimating to verify accurate material takeoffs, reducing waste and eliminating delays caused by material shortfalls or ordering errors.
Job Site Management
- Maintain a safe job site at all times by communicating safety standards clearly to all trade partners, enforcing OSHA regulations and Park Square Homes' safety policies, and creating a culture of accountability for safe work practices across every crew on site.
- Keep all job sites clean, organized, and presentable to the standards established by Park Square Homes management, ensuring every community reflects the company's commitment to quality at every stage of construction.
- Conduct all required meetings, pre-construction conferences, frame walks, and homeowner orientations according to Park Square Homes systems and processes, ensuring buyers and trade partners are informed, aligned, and confident at every milestone.
- Attend monthly construction meetings, contributing active participation, accurate project updates, and collaborative problem-solving to support division-wide performance.
Trade Partner & Supplier Relations
- Build and maintain productive, professional relationships with contractors and suppliers, serving as the primary point of accountability on the job site for trade partner performance, scheduling, and quality.
- Work in partnership with Purchasing to support a positive contractor experience, proactively resolving scheduling, access, and coordination issues before they delay construction progress.
Customer Experience
- Deliver an exceptional homeowner experience throughout the construction process by communicating proactively, returning all calls and messages promptly, and resolving buyer concerns with professionalism, empathy, and urgency.
- Lead all homeowner walk-through inspections and scheduled milestone inspections with confidence and thoroughness, ensuring buyers feel informed, valued, and proud of their home at every stage.
- Represent Park Square Homes' brand and values in every buyer interaction on site, reinforcing trust and setting the standard for the quality of experience the company delivers.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a proactive business partner to Design, Estimating, Purchasing, and other internal departments, sharing field insight that improves processes, reduces costs, and enhances the quality of homes delivered across the division.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and hands-on homebuilding experience considered.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in residential homebuilding construction, with demonstrated ability to manage homes independently through all phases of construction.
- Proven track record of delivering homes on time, within budget, and to quality standards in a production homebuilding environment.
- Experience managing trade partners, conducting homeowner inspections, and coordinating across internal departments preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Comprehensive knowledge of residential construction sequencing, trade scopes, building codes, and quality standards.
- Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, site plans, and specifications with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple homes and priorities simultaneously across an assigned community or area.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with construction management or scheduling software a plus.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and confidently with homeowners, trade partners, and internal team members.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take decisive action with minimal supervision.
- Results Orientation — Takes full personal ownership of construction schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction outcomes, driving each home to closing with urgency and accountability.
- Customer Focus — Consistently champions the homeowner experience, treating every buyer interaction as an opportunity to reinforce Park Square Homes' reputation for quality, transparency, and care.
- Leadership & Influence — Directs, motivates, and holds accountable a diverse group of trade partners and crew members without direct authority, creating a culture of performance and professionalism on every job site.
- Solutions Orientation — Identifies construction challenges, design conflicts, and site issues proactively and resolves them with practical, timely solutions that protect schedule and quality.
- Collaboration & Influence — Partners effectively across Design, Estimating, Purchasing, and other departments to solve problems, improve processes, and deliver better outcomes for buyers and the business.
- Integrity & Professionalism — Models Park Square Homes' values in all interactions with homeowners, trade partners, and colleagues, setting the standard for how business is conducted on the job site.
- Adaptability — Responds effectively to changing schedules, site conditions, trade partner challenges, and buyer needs, adjusting priorities without losing sight of quality or delivery commitments
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent walking of active construction sites, including traversing uneven terrain, climbing stairs, and accessing homes at all stages of construction from foundation through final finish.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods during site inspections, frame walks, and homeowner orientations.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of materials, plans, tools, or equipment up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to operate a motor vehicle safely and maintain a valid driver's license; regular travel between homes and communities within the assigned area is required.
- Ability to use a computer, tablet, and mobile phone throughout the workday for scheduling, communication, inspection documentation, and reporting.

- Regular exposure to construction-related hazards including dust, noise, electrical systems, and moving objects; appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times on site.
- Responsible for enforcing all OSHA safety standards and Park Square Homes safety policies across all trade partners and crews within the assigned community, serving as the safety standard-bearer on every job site.
- Some schedule flexibility may be required to meet construction milestones, homeowner commitments, or trade partner availability.
- Local travel between job sites within the assigned community or division is a daily requirement of the role.
