About the Opportunity

We are looking for a commercially astute, financially strong, and execution-focused business leader to join the Office of the Managing Director.

This is a high-ownership role for someone who can work closely with senior leadership, translate strategic priorities into executable plans, coordinate across departments, strengthen financial and operational discipline, and ensure that critical business commitments are delivered on time.

The successful candidate will serve as a trusted execution partner to the Managing Director, providing visibility into business performance, identifying operational and financial risks, driving cross-functional accountability, and supporting faster, better-informed business decisions.

This is not an administrative support position. It is an enterprise-wide business execution role with direct exposure to leadership, finance, operations, people, customers, vendors, banks, consultants, and strategic initiatives.

Your Core Mandate

You will be responsible for helping the Managing Director and leadership team:

  • Convert strategic decisions into clearly defined execution plans.
  • Improve coordination and accountability across departments.
  • Strengthen cash-flow, working-capital, and financial-performance visibility.
  • Establish an effective management review and reporting cadence.
  • Identify business bottlenecks before they affect performance.
  • Ensure critical projects, commitments, approvals, and decisions are completed on time.
  • Build a culture of ownership, discipline, transparency, and measurable execution.
Key Responsibilities1. Strategy Execution and MD’s Office Coordination
  • Partner closely with the Managing Director on strategic priorities, business plans, management initiatives, and special projects.
  • Translate management decisions into clear action plans, responsibilities, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Maintain a central management action tracker covering key decisions, projects, approvals, risks, and pending commitments.
  • Prepare structured business updates, executive summaries, presentations, and decision-support material.
  • Conduct periodic reviews with departmental leaders and highlight delays, dependencies, risks, and areas requiring management intervention.
  • Handle sensitive business information and management discussions with the highest level of discretion and confidentiality.
2. Business Operations and Cross-Functional Execution
  • Coordinate with Finance, Sales, Operations, Procurement, HR, Administration, Legal, Production, and other departments to drive business priorities.
  • Establish a disciplined operating rhythm through weekly reviews, action trackers, dashboards, and management follow-ups.
  • Monitor departmental deliverables and ensure that commitments are completed within agreed timelines.
  • Identify operational gaps, process inefficiencies, ownership issues, and recurring execution bottlenecks.
  • Facilitate coordination between internal teams, consultants, customers, vendors, and external stakeholders.
  • Escalate critical risks proactively and coordinate corrective actions with the responsible teams.
  • Improve interdepartmental communication, ownership clarity, and execution discipline.
3. Finance, Cash Flow and Working-Capital Management
  • Monitor cash flow, customer collections, receivables, payables, vendor commitments, and overall working-capital requirements.
  • Drive structured follow-ups for overdue customer payments and pending vendor settlements.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, costing, profitability analysis, and financial planning.
  • Review revenue, margins, expenses, project profitability, and major financial variances.
  • Coordinate with Finance and business teams to ensure that financial decisions are supported by accurate and timely information.
  • Support relationships and coordination with banks, financial institutions, auditors, consultants, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Identify financial risks, cash-flow pressures, and commercial concerns requiring management attention.
4. Business Performance and Management Reporting
  • Design and maintain meaningful MIS reports, executive dashboards, and performance scorecards.
  • Consolidate information from different departments into clear, decision-ready management reports.
  • Track business KPIs, financial performance, project progress, operational productivity, and departmental commitments.
  • Analyse actual performance against budgets, forecasts, targets, and management plans.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of management information.
  • Convert business data into actionable insights, recommendations, and clearly defined next steps.
5. Decision Support and Approval Management
  • Coordinate business approvals relating to payments, purchases, contracts, administrative requirements, workforce matters, and other operational decisions.
  • Ensure that approval requests include the required commercial, financial, operational, and risk-related information.
  • Follow up on approved decisions and confirm that implementation has been completed.
  • Maintain visibility over pending approvals and prevent avoidable delays in business operations.
  • Support the Managing Director with structured analysis, alternatives, risks, and recommendations for important business decisions.
6. Governance, Compliance and Stakeholder Coordination
  • Track important statutory, legal, financial, operational, and business-compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate with consultants, auditors, banks, legal professionals, vendors, and other external stakeholders.
  • Maintain visibility over compliance deadlines, documentation requirements, renewals, and management dependencies.
  • Support internal reviews and ensure that agreed corrective actions are implemented.
  • Strengthen documentation, reporting discipline, and audit readiness across relevant business functions.
7. Leadership and Organizational Accountability
  • Build strong working relationships with departmental leaders and team members.
  • Encourage ownership without creating unnecessary bureaucracy or micromanagement.
  • Challenge delays, unclear responsibilities, and incomplete commitments constructively but firmly.
  • Create transparency around business priorities, deadlines, dependencies, and performance.
  • Help establish a results-oriented culture where commitments are documented, monitored, and delivered.
  • Influence teams effectively even when they do not report directly to the role.

  • A result-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • The confidence to identify issues, challenge assumptions, and recommend practical solutions.

  • Chartered Accountant, Cost and Management Accountant, MBA in Finance or Operations, or a Commerce graduate with strong and relevant business experience.
  • Approximately 5–10 years of experience in business operations, corporate finance, management reporting, strategy execution, commercial operations, or a related leadership role.
  • Experience working directly with a Managing Director, CEO, promoter, business head, or senior leadership team will be strongly preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, engineering, industrial products, project-based businesses, or operationally complex organizations will be an advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, financial analysis, MIS reporting, presentations, and business dashboards.
