Job Description
Our client, a well-established, publicly traded organization, is looking for a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join its Accounting & Finance team in Margate, FL. This position is ideal for a CPA with a strong public accounting foundation who is looking to transition into an industry environment while continuing to work closely with SEC reporting, technical accounting, and external audit. The Senior Financial Reporting Accountant will play an important role in the companys quarterly and annual reporting process and will have exposure to senior members of the accounting organization. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys technical accounting, financial reporting, and working in a deadline-driven environment.
- Salary- $90-$115k Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation and review of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
- Assist with earnings releases and other external financial reporting requirements.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial reporting schedules, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Perform monthly and quarterly close activities and investigate significant fluctuations or variances.
- Prepare financial analysis and flux explanations for management review.
- Research new accounting standards and assist with evaluating their impact on the business.
- Draft and maintain technical accounting documentation and quarterly accounting memos.
- Assist with maintaining effective internal controls and documentation surrounding the financial reporting process.
- Coordinate with external auditors and provide requested schedules, documentation, and explanations.
- Review and support XBRL tagging and other components of the SEC reporting process.
- Contribute to process improvements and special accounting or reporting projects as needed.
- Active CPA license is REQUIRED.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- 35 years of public accounting experience, with strong exposure to U.S. GAAP.
- Demonstrated experience with financial statement preparation, audit, or external reporting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large sets of financial data.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict reporting deadlines.
- Big Four public accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Prior SEC reporting or public company experience is a plus.
- Experience with technical accounting and accounting research is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with general ledger and financial reporting systems is preferred.
