Fashion Designer – Ethnic Wear Brand

Our collections include Sarees, Lehengas, and Indo-Western wear , blending traditional craftsmanship with modern aesthetics. We are looking for a creative, trend-driven, and detail-oriented Fashion Designer to conceptualize and develop distinctive collections that resonate with evolving customer preferences.
Key Responsibilities- Design innovative collections of Sarees, Lehengas, and Indo-Western ethnic wear in line with the brand's vision and seasonal trends.
- Conduct market research on fashion trends, colour forecasts, fabrics, embellishments, silhouettes, and customer preferences.
- Develop mood boards, design concepts, sketches, technical drawings, and tech packs.
- Select suitable fabrics, prints, embroideries, trims, laces, and embellishments for each collection.
- Coordinate with vendors, artisans, embroidery units, printers, and production teams for sample development and execution.
- Monitor garment fit, construction, finishing, and quality throughout the sampling and production process.
- Work closely with merchandising, sourcing, production, and marketing teams to ensure timely product launches.
- Participate in product photoshoots, styling, catalog development, and collection presentations.
- Maintain design documentation, sample records, and collection archives.
- Ensure every collection reflects URVAYA's brand identity, quality standards, and commercial viability.
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in designing ethnic wear , preferably Sarees, Lehengas, or Indo-Western apparel .
- Exceptional fresh graduates with a strong design portfolio are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of ethnic wear design, garment construction, textile development, and fashion forecasting.
- Excellent understanding of Indian fabrics, traditional crafts, embroidery techniques, prints, and surface ornamentation.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW , or equivalent design software.
- Strong sketching, visualization, and presentation skills.
- Good understanding of sampling, production processes, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, creative environment while meeting deadlines.
- Experience in developing seasonal ethnic wear collections.
- Strong aesthetic sense with an eye for colour, texture, detailing, and silhouettes.
- Passion for Indian fashion, innovation, and customer-focused design.
