Job Description
The Joint Director QA (MRO and Systems) supports the Director – QA in managing quality assurance activities for the MRO facility handling weapon systems, electro optical systems, and associated components. The role provides QA oversight for repair, inspection and testing, ensures implementation of the ASI QMS, and supports customer and regulatory QA requirements.
Responsible for QA activities at the MRO facility, covering inspection, repair quality, and final acceptance of systems, EO systems and related components, in coordination with facility QA and operations teams. Establishing and maintaining MRO‐specific QAPs, inspection procedures, repair quality checkpoints, acceptance standards, and documentation controls. Responsible for QA and related technical issues pertaining to IAI scope of work for all ground systems of MRSAM system of IAF and Army. Participate in the FATs/PDI process for MRSAM systems, on as required basis. Support the Director – QA in general QA activities of the company, including coordination and QA oversight for MRSAM programs, projects and facilities at other locations, as assigned. Providing QA coverage for missile project when required. MR/Deputy MR for QMS of ASI to obtain AS9100 D /ISO 9001 and to ensure continued certification including conduct of surveillance and periodic audits , serving as a vital backup to maintain the QMS and manage customer or auditor interactions to support Top Management/ primary MR. Participate in milestone reviews of BTP/BTS suppliers, supplier qualification, certification and audit, Quality plan supervision, QA reviews, conduct new certifications, production reviews and FAI at suppliers premises. Participate in PMR with customers for QA requirements. Perform additional project management tasks as required by IAI from time to time. These will include Inward Goods Inspection (IGI), Joint Receipt Inspection of Free Issue Materials received for integration of the systems, manage and supervise inspection of products and parts as assigned. Vetting / supporting preparation of QA documents such as QAP/ATP, as required for projects. Conduct and finalise Integration Readiness Review, QAP implementation and monitoring at nominated firms. Perform periodic FRACAS and NCRs management root cause analysis and corrective action by suppliers. Manage and perform in-process inspection and final inspection of products under manufacture including visual, dimensional, functional and performance inspection and generating the reports at various firms, in support of AMDS activities in India. Provide Source Inspection for IAI projects in India, guide, supervise and monitor the services of local inspectors when hired. Any other tasks which may be assigned from time to time.Requirements:
Education: Degree in Engineering or equivalent from a recognised university Experience: Experience in inspection, testing, process control, NCR management, quality documentation for repairable/complex assemblies, and defence/aerospace MRO specifically Dealing with DGQA, support delivery of systems through DGQA organisation, Implementation of QMS in organisations and QA of Missile/ Airborne Systems. ISO 9001 and AS 9100 certification will be an advantage. Skills: - Good communication skills with proficiency in Microsoft suite.
