What You'll Do

As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll support our doctors and technicians while helping provide excellent care to our patients. Responsibilities may include:

  • Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments, treatments, and procedures
  • Safely restrain and handle dogs and cats
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
  • Assist with surgical preparation and patient recovery
  • Support blood draws, laboratory sample collection, and diagnostic testing
  • Assist with radiographs and other diagnostic procedures
  • Administer medications and treatments under the direction of the veterinary team
  • Monitor and provide basic nursing care for hospitalized patients
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain treatment, surgical, and patient areas
  • Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients
  • Maintain accurate patient information and medical records
  • Work closely with doctors, technicians, and fellow assistants to keep the hospital running smoothly
What We're Looking For
  • Previous veterinary assistant or animal care experience preferred
  • Comfortable safely handling and restraining dogs and cats
  • Strong communication and client service skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to learn and continue developing veterinary skills
  • Dependable, positive, and team-oriented
  • Comfortable assisting with cleaning and maintaining hospital areas as needed
  • Experience with Cornerstone Practice Management Software
