Location: Lincoln, NE 68508Contract Length: 6 MonthsSchedule: Monday-Friday, Onsite | 8:00 AM-5:00 PMPay Rate: $75-$80/hrOvertime: Available during harvest season
We are seeking an experienced Transportation Logistics Specialist to support transportation operations across Ag and Energy business platforms. This role will be responsible for carrier management, freight procurement, transportation pricing, market analysis, shipment execution, and transportation cost optimization.Responsibilities:Negotiate truck freight rates and contract terms with carriersManage carrier relationships, capacity planning, and shipment executionSupport transportation spend management and cost reduction initiativesMaximize load pairing (backhaul) opportunities across product linesAnalyze transportation operations and identify process improvement opportunitiesProvide stakeholders with accurate, market-based freight pricingMonitor carrier KPIs and implement corrective actions when neededMaintain transportation data, freight rates, contracts, and volume forecasts within TMS (Master Mind) and internal systemsResolve freight invoice discrepancies and ensure accurate carrier paymentsServe as a transportation market expert, providing insights and recommendations to internal stakeholdersQualifications:Experience in transportation, logistics, supply chain, carrier management, or freight operationsExperience negotiating transportation rates and contractsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS)Advanced Excel and data management capabilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and stakeholder management skills xzbcwsv Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionPreferred:Agricultural, commodities, grain, energy, or manufacturing industry experienceKnowledge of truck freight markets and carrier networksTransportation spend analysis and carrier performance management experienceGrain commodity trading experience is a strong plusInterview Process:1⃣ Hiring Manager Interview2⃣ Panel Interview with Transportation Team MembersIf you're experienced in freight procurement, carrier negotiations, transportation strategy, and logistics optimization, we'd love to hear from you.
