Job Summary The MGH Institute of Health Professions is now accepting applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Health Administration Program. This role involves participating in CAHME accreditation, teaching, assessment strategies, and curriculum support, alongside general academic advising and active participation in professional, service, and scholarly activities. Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Health Services Administration, Healthcare Economics, Healthcare Leadership, or a related health discipline from a regionally accredited institution and have 3-5 years of healthcare executive experience. Fellowship in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), CAHME and AUPHA affiliation preferred. - 3-5 years of healthcare executive experience
- Preferences will be given to candidates with a teaching focus in one or more of the following areas: Healthcare Management, Healthcare Policy, Human Resources in Healthcare, Legal and Ethical Considerations in Healthcare, Operations Management, Strategic Management in Healthcare, and Leadership.
- Demonstrated success in healthcare organization leadership positions and academic healthcare experience.
- Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with others (including interprofessional teams)
- Knowledge of best practices in graduate education
- Commitment to flexibility and collaboration in a changing health career environment
- Ability to prioritize and self-monitor
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Faculty member assumes all responsibilities in being an active and contributing member to the school.
- Requires a flexible schedule, with availability to take on occasional evening teaching assignments and to attend evening/weekend IHP/School events.

- Teaches within or across programs as appropriate to area of expertise and program needs.
- Design and deliver instruction using evidence-based pedagogical practices, including development of syllabi, course materials, and assessments aligned with program competencies and accreditation standards
- Evaluate student achievement of program competencies and learning outcomes appropriate to the program and level of student learning.
- Participate in the development, evaluation, and revision of the Health Administration Program curriculum plan.
- Facilitate active learning environments (e.g., case-based, interprofessional, and clinical simulation) that promote critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and application of current research in health professions practice.
- Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback; mentor students’ academic and professional development while upholding inclusive, student-centered teaching practices.
- Contribute to departmental and institutional governance through active participation on committees, that support program quality and continuous improvement.
- Provide comprehensive student advising and mentorship fostering student success and professional readiness
- Engage in professional service to the field through leadership or participation in professional organizations, that advance health professions education and practice.
- External and internal service contributions expectations are commiserate by rank
- Participates in the development and implementation of a systematic evaluation plan that encompasses all components of the program.
- Identifies of an area of scholarship as outlined in the IHP Scholarship Model.
- Develop and sustain a program of scholarship that advances health professions education, clinical practice, or translational research, including dissemination through peer-reviewed publications, presentations, and other scholarly products commensurate with level of appointment.
