Role Overview - Senior Auditor

Job Summary: The Senior Auditor will be responsible for leading audit engagements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing valuable insights to enhance the organization's financial integrity. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience with the Big 4 accounting firms and will play a key role in mentoring junior staff, managing audit projects, and liaising with clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring adherence to audit methodologies and quality standards.

  • Identify, assess, and document financial and operational risks within the organization and propose effective mitigation strategies.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies. Stay updated with changes in regulatory requirements and advise on necessary adjustments.

  • Review and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements to enhance the reliability of financial reporting.

  • Supervise and mentor junior auditors, providing guidance and feedback to develop their skills and ensure high-quality work.

  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring satisfaction with audit services.

  • Drive continuous improvement in audit processes, methodologies, and tools, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the audit function.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CA, ACCA, or CPA is highly preferred.

  • 4 years of auditing experience, with a significant portion spent at a Big 4 firm (PwC, Deloitte, EY, KPMG).

  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP), and financial reporting. Proficient in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.

  • Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing audit teams and projects.

  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
