Job Description

Rogers Group is currently seeking an Off-Road Haul Truck Driver in the Appomattox, VA area for our Virginia SMA operations. The successful candidate for this position will have familiarity and experience operating articulated and/or rigid frame haul trucks and will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence. Job Details:

  • Wages starting at $18.00/hr. for entry level candidates. Some positions require no experience and Rogers Group will train.
  • Higher pay for skilled operators of heavy equipment with quarry and mining experience. Overtime available and extensive medical and retirement benefits.
  • Operate haul trucks to remove overburden and stripping material for quarry production.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily pre-op and post-op inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with company policies.
  • Perform servicing and maintenance of equipment as trained and directed by management.
  • Effective communication skills applicable to position.
  • Operate equipment with a high degree of competency, skill, and proficiency.
  • Properly follow all company policies and OSHA / MSHA / Environmental regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record and Valid Driver’s License required
Qualifications:
  • Dedication to safe work practices.
  • Previous experience operating both rigid frame haul trucks and/or articulating haul trucks preferred.
  • Ability to perform general laborer and clean-up duties on the ground and in the plant as needed/directed.
  • Must be able to work outside in all types of weather and tolerate being exposed to loud noises.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and extended hours as needed.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen.
  • Able to provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration document.
