As a Senior Ecommerce Developer (Big Commerce), you will:

Lead the development and customization of Big Commerce storefronts, themes, and apps across multiple client projects. Architect and implement scalable solutions that integrate seamlessly with ERP systems, third-party apps, and custom APIs. Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and QA teams to deliver pixel-perfect, high performing ecommerce experiences. Optimize site speed, SEO, and conversion funnels to maximize client ROI and user engagement. Stay ahead of platform updates, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously elevate Kensium's Big Commerce capabilities.

Highly proficient in Big Commerce Stencil, Java Script, HTML/CSS, and modern frontend frameworks. Experienced in building and scaling Big Commerce B2 B and Multi-Storefront solutions, with a strong understanding of ecommerce architecture. Roles & Responsibilities:

Lead the design, development, and deployment of ecommerce solutions on Big Commerce and custom stacks (React, Laravel). Review and refine technical requirements, ensuring alignment with client goals and Kensium's architectural standards. Develop and integrate scalable APIs with ERP, CRM, payment gateways, and third-party systems. Set and enforce coding standards (PSR-12 and beyond) across projects to ensure maintainability and performance. Conduct peer reviews and mentor junior developers, fostering technical excellence and growth. Collaborate cross-functionally with UI/UX, QA, Product, and Dev Ops teams to ensure seamless delivery and quality. Optimize storefronts for performance, accessibility, and SEO using modern frameworks and best practices. Leverage AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Git Hub Copilot, Chat GPT) to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Identify modernization opportunities, driving innovation in workflows, frameworks, and integrations. Stay current with emerging technologies, Big Commerce platform updates, and ecommerce trends. Ensure deliverables meet testing standards, collaborating with QA to align on automation, regression, and performance testing strategies. Support pre-sales and solutioning efforts, providing technical insights and feasibility assessments for new opportunities.

Experience and Skills:

Technical Expertise:

7+ years of professional experience in ecommerce development, with 4+ years of hands-on experience in Big Commerce. Strong proficiency in Stencil theme development, custom app creation, and Big Commerce APIs. Proven experience building custom applications using React (frontend) and Laravel (backend). Deep understanding of REST/Graph QL APIs, microservices architecture, and ERP/CRM integrations. Skilled in PHP, My SQL, Java Script (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3, and modern frontend/backend frameworks. Familiar with Git, Composer, Big Commerce CLI, and CI/CD pipelines.

Big Commerce Expertise:

Strong experience with Big Commerce Stencil framework, including theme customization and performance optimization. Proficient in Big Commerce API integrations (Storefront API, Admin API, Checkout SDK). Experience with Headless Commerce setups using Big Commerce as a backend with custom React frontends. Familiarity with Big Commerce Multi-Storefront, B2 B Edition, and custom checkout flows. Experience integrating Big Commerce with ERP, CRM, payment, and fulfillment systems. Knowledge of SEO, accessibility, and performance tuning for Big Commerce storefronts.

Innovation & AI-Driven Development:

Experience using AI-assisted tools like Git Hub Copilot / Cursor for code generation, validation, and optimization. Knowledge of automated testing frameworks and code quality tools (e.g., PHPStan, PHPUnit, ESLint). Proactive in leveraging automation and AI to improve development speed, maintainability, and reliability.
