Role Summary

Leads day-to-day technical configuration of Azure Purview — scanning, classification rules, glossary structure, and workflow configuration — and supervises Purview/UC Engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and troubleshoot Purview scans against the Unity Catalog metastore
• Build and tune classification rules for banking-specific sensitive data types
• Configure business glossary structure, term templates, and approval workflows
• Set up data map collections aligned to the domain structure
• Review and QA engineer output before handoff to Data Stewards
• Support access-insight report configuration

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years data catalog/governance tooling experience, including 2+ years hands-on Azure Purview
• Experience configuring scan rule sets, classification, and glossary workflows
• Familiarity with Azure RBAC and service-principal configuration

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience specifically integrating Purview with Databricks Unity Catalog
• Banking or other regulated-industry classification experience
