IT Product Portfolio Manager

This individual will own a holistic view of the submission-to-bind underwriting journey and establish the strategy connecting digital underwriting experiences, workflow, policy administration, rating, data, integrations, and emerging AI capabilities.
The position requires someone who has previously transformed underwriting environments at meaningful scale. The successful candidate will partner with senior underwriting and technology leaders to define the future-state experience, establish product priorities, and translate strategy into measurable improvements across the complete underwriting lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
Define and lead the enterprise product strategy for global underwriting technologyOwn the product portfolio and roadmap across the submission-to-bind lifecycleDrive modernization of underwriting workbench and workstation capabilitiesConnect submission intake, risk evaluation, pricing, quoting, and binding workflowsEstablish an integrated strategy across policy administration, rating, workflow, data, APIs, and supporting platformsIdentify practical opportunities to use AI and advanced analytics for risk selection, pricing, productivity, and decision supportPrioritize investments based on underwriting value, operational improvement, user experience, and enterprise strategyLead transformation across multiple business lines, regions, and technology platformsPartner with underwriting, technology, architecture, data, operations, compliance, and vendor stakeholdersEvaluate build-versus-buy and consolidation-versus-integration decisionsLead change management and adoption of new underwriting capabilitiesTrack measurable business, user, and operational outcomesPresent strategy, progress, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations to senior leadershipEnsure individual systems contribute to a consistent front-to-back underwriting experience
Role Requirements:
At least 10 years of experience across insurance technology, underwriting products, enterprise product management, or related disciplinesDeep understanding of commercial P&C or specialty-insurance underwritingStrong knowledge of the end-to-end submission-to-bind lifecycleProven ownership of a significant underwriting technology transformationExperience implementing or modernizing underwriting workbenches or workstationsExperience with policy-administration systemsExperience with rating engines or rating capabilitiesAbility to connect multiple platforms into an integrated underwriting ecosystemExperience incorporating AI, advanced analytics, or data-enabled capabilities into underwritingProduct strategy, xzbcwsv roadmap, prioritization, and investment-management experienceExperience operating across multiple business lines, regions, or complex organizationsStrong executive communication and stakeholder-management skillsAbility to balance long-term transformation strategy with practical deliveryAbility to work onsite in the New York/New Jersey area four days per weekWillingness to travel as required
