Matr Sadan DRI Hospital, Chitrakoot, is seeking a qualified, compassionate and experienced Consultant Pediatrician to join its clinical team and provide comprehensive medical care to infants, children and adolescents.

Role OverviewThe selected doctor will be responsible for providing high-quality pediatric consultation, diagnosis, treatment, emergency care and preventive healthcare services.
The role requires strong clinical knowledge, sound decision-making, patient-focused care and the ability to manage routine as well as critical pediatric cases in coordination with the hospital’s medical, nursing and diagnostic teams.
Key ResponsibilitiesPediatric OPD Services- Examine, diagnose and treat infants, children and adolescents.
- Manage common childhood illnesses, infections, allergies and nutritional disorders.
- Assess growth, development and general health of pediatric patients.
- Prescribe appropriate medicines, investigations and treatment plans.
- Provide follow-up care and monitor treatment outcomes.
- Refer patients to specialists when advanced care is required.
- Conduct newborn examinations and health assessments.
- Provide care for low-birth-weight, premature and high-risk newborns.
- Support neonatal resuscitation and stabilization when required.
- Monitor newborn feeding, jaundice, infections and developmental concerns.
- Coordinate with gynecologists and obstetricians for newborn care following deliveries.
- Counsel parents regarding breastfeeding, hygiene and newborn safety.
- Attend pediatric emergencies and provide timely stabilization and treatment.
- Manage cases involving high fever, seizures, respiratory distress, dehydration, poisoning and trauma.
- Supervise admitted pediatric patients and ensure proper treatment and monitoring.
- Participate in emergency, night and on-call duties as per the hospital roster.
- Coordinate referrals and transfers when higher-level care is required.
- Provide clear instructions to nursing and support staff regarding patient care.
- Conduct vaccination and immunization services according to national guidelines.
- Maintain accurate vaccination records and schedules.
- Counsel parents regarding childhood immunization and preventive care.
- Monitor physical, behavioural and developmental milestones.
- Identify early signs of developmental delay, malnutrition or congenital conditions.
- Promote preventive healthcare, hygiene and healthy nutrition among children and families.
- Perform routine pediatric procedures within the scope of qualification and experience.
- Manage intravenous access, nebulization, oxygen therapy and fluid administration.
- Support emergency resuscitation and stabilization.
- Monitor children undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures.
- Ensure informed consent and proper documentation for all procedures.
- Explain diagnoses, treatment plans and possible outcomes clearly to parents and guardians.
- Counsel families regarding nutrition, vaccination, hygiene and child development.
- Address concerns related to growth, behaviour, sleep and feeding.
- Maintain patient dignity, confidentiality and compassionate communication.
- Provide guidance for long-term management of chronic pediatric conditions.
- Maintain accurate case sheets, prescriptions, consent forms and discharge summaries.
- Follow hospital protocols, infection-control practices and medical ethics.
- Ensure proper documentation for insurance, medico-legal and referral cases.
- Participate in clinical audits, case discussions and quality-improvement initiatives.
- Report critical incidents and support corrective actions.
- Work closely with gynecologists, physicians, surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and diagnostic teams.
- Guide junior doctors, nursing staff and support personnel in pediatric care.
- Participate in hospital rounds, case reviews and departmental meetings.
- Support training programmes for nursing and clinical staff.
- Assist management in developing the Pediatrics and Child Health Department.
- Participate in child health camps, school health programmes and rural outreach activities.
- Support awareness campaigns on immunization, nutrition and child development.
- Conduct health education sessions for parents, teachers and caregivers.
- Assist the hospital in strengthening community-based pediatric services.
