We’re hiring a hands-on IT Systems & Security Specialist to design, secure, and continuously improve our internal IT environment: endpoints, identity, networking, collaboration platforms, and compliance evidence.
This Role requires IT security & compliance execution: implement controls, policies, and evidence collection aligned to CMMC readiness (e.g., practices associated with NIST SP 800-171), and keep the program operational.Secure identity and access across Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365/SharePoint:MFA, SSO, conditional access, least privilege, privileged access workflowsJoiner/mover/leaver automation and access reviewsHarden and manage endpoints (Windows/macOS/Linux as applicable):MDM (Intune/Jamf/other), patching, configuration baselinesEDR/AV, disk encryption, device compliance, secure remote accessDesign and secure networking for an SME environment:Firewalls, VLANs, VPN/zero-trust access, Wi-Fi security, DNS/email securityVendor/ISP coordination and reliable site operationsBuild strong operational hygiene:Asset inventory, vulnerability management, logging/monitoring, incident responseBackups, disaster recovery, business continuity testingCreate audit-ready documentation:Security policies/procedures, diagrams, system inventories, evidence bindersManage POA&Ms and track remediation to closureBe the go-to security partner for the business:Risk assessments for new tools/vendorsSecurity awareness and “secure-by-default” enablement
Required qualifications5+ years in hands-on IT infrastructure + security roles (SME environment strongly preferred)Proven experience securing Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365/SharePoint (admin-level)Strong fundamentals in:IAM (MFA, RBAC, least privilege), endpoint management, networking, logging/monitoringExperience building security documentation and operating a compliance program (CMMC/NIST-style controls, SSP/POA&M concepts, audit prep)Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders and drive work to closure
Nice to haveDirect experience with CMMC assessments and coordinating third-party auditsFamiliarity with defense-adjacent requirements (e.g., handling CUI, DFARS-adjacent workflows)SIEM experience, email security, DLP, CASB, scripting/automation (PowerShell/Python)Security certifications (Security+, SSCP, CISSP, CISM, CCSP) or equivalent experience
