This is an exciting opportunity for a trend-led Girlswear / Teenwear Woven Designer to join a leading fashion supplier based in London.

The role would suit a designer with experience in the older girls, teen or youth market, or a womenswear designer with a younger, on-trend design handwriting and a strong understanding of the young fashion customer.
Working in a fast-paced, creative environment, you will be part of a talented design team, and developing commercial, multi-product woven and jersey collections for leading UK retailers and supermarkets.
The ideal candidate will have a great eye for emerging trends, TikTok-led influences and youth culture, with the creativity to translate these into fresh, commercial collections.
Main Responsibilities
Design and develop trend-led woven collections across multi-product for the older girls, teen and youth market.
Research seasonal trends, emerging youth culture and TikTok-led influences, translating these into commercially relevant product.
Develop original design concepts, mood boards, colour palettes, fabric directions and product ranges to suit individual customer briefs.
Create detailed CADs, design packs and technical specifications for sampling and production.
Incorporate handwriting-inspired graphics and design details, including light embroidery with an Indian influence.
Work closely with the Design Manager, buyers and wider design team to develop collections that meet customer requirements and deadlines.
Present design concepts and ideas to internal teams and customers.
Liaise with overseas factories and suppliers in India, Bangladesh and China throughout the development process.
Keep up to date with competitors, market developments and the latest trends influencing the teen and youth customer.
Person Specification
Proven experience designing girlswear, ideally across older girls, teenwear or the youth market, with a strong focus on wovens.
Experience working across multi-product categories within a fashion supplier or retail environment.
A strong understanding of current youth fashion trends, social media influences and TikTok-led styles.
Creative flair with the ability to interpret trends and translate them into commercial, customer-focused collections.
Strong CAD, design development and technical pack skills.
An understanding of fabrics, garment construction and product development.
Experience working with overseas factories and suppliers would be advantageous.
Commercially minded, with an understanding of the balance between creativity, quality and price.
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines. xrexnqw
