Lead Engineer - Functional Safety Manager

About the Company We are seeking an experienced Functional Safety Manager to lead Functional Safety activities for automotive embedded systems and software development programs. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in ISO 26262, safety lifecycle management, safety engineering, and cross-functional project leadership. About the Role We are looking for a Functional Safety Manager to oversee Functional Safety activities throughout the product development lifecycle in compliance with ISO 26262. Responsibilities Lead Functional Safety activities throughout the product development lifecycle in compliance with ISO 26262. Define and execute Functional Safety Plans, Safety Cases, and compliance strategies. Perform and review HARA, FSC, TSC, ASIL allocation, and ASIL decomposition activities. Drive safety analysis activities including FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA, and Safety Case development. Collaborate with global engineering, customer, supplier, and assessment teams to achieve safety objectives. Lead Functional Safety audits, assessments, and technical reviews. Mentor and guide engineering teams on Functional Safety processes and best practices. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or related disciplines. 10-12 years of experience in Automotive Embedded Product Development. Minimum 4-6 years of hands-on experience in Functional Safety. Proven experience as a Functional Safety Manager or Functional Safety Lead. Required Skills ISO 26262 (Parts 2-9) HARA, FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA AUTOSAR, Embedded Systems, System Engineering Requirements Management Tools: DOORS, Polarion, Codebeamer Medini Analyze, Enterprise Architect, Jira MATLAB/Simulink Preferred Skills TÜV Functional Safety Certification Knowledge of ISO 21448 (SOTIF) and ISO 21434 Cybersecurity Experience in EV Powertrain, ICE Powertrain, ADAS, Body Electronics, Chassis, or Autonomous Driving domains Familiarity with ASPICE processes Pay range and compensation package Location: Chennai Experience: 10-12 Year
