Bookkeeper

Seeking Bookkeeper for a growing 11-lawyer, 25-person firm. Firm requires a well-organized and detail oriented individual to perform the billing and accounting functions of the firm. Strong accounting skills and computer knowledge required plus at least two years’ experience in a law firm or another professional service firm environment.

Required Knowledge, Abilities and SkillsMust have at least 2+ years’ experience as a full-charge bookkeeper/accountant with responsibilities including client billing in a law or professional service firm environment.Must have successfully completed coursework in accounting. An associate degree in accounting is desirable.Provide general management and oversight of the accounting systemsExperience with law firm billing or other professional service firm (Cosmolex, TABS or similar software) accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) as well as Microsoft Office Products.Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and formulas.Must possess strong administrative, communication and organizational skills. xzbcwsv Should offer a professional appearance and manner.
Duties may include but not be limited toPerform all bookkeeping functionsPerform all functions related to entry of cash receipts, client costs, billing with accounting systemsPerform all functions related to cash receipts and disbursements for the IOLTA trust accountReconcile bank statementsWork up and make bank deposits for the firm’s accountsHandle payrollProvide all required financial reports to firm administration on a monthly basisCoordinate with the firms outside accountantsProvide general management and oversight of the accounting systemsHandle W-2 requests and 1099's at year end.Process Form 5500 on annual basisCreate firm budget on yearly basis
