Role Description As an Occupational Therapist at Shelter Arms, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

Assess children’s developmental, physical, emotional, and sensory needs through standardized evaluations and observations.Develop individualized therapy and goal plans for children to improve daily living, motor, play, and social interaction skills. Conduct therapy sessions focusing on sensory integration, fine and gross motor development, and cognitive skills. Support children in enhancing independence in self-care, learning, and recreational activities. Collaborate with parents, teachers, speech therapists, psychologists, and other professionals for holistic child developm.Provide guidance and training to parents/caregivers for home-based therapy practices. Maintain accurate therapy records, prepare progress notes, and submit reports on time as per organizational requirements. Monitor each child’s progress regularly and adapt therapy and goal plans accordingly. Ensure therapy practices comply with medical, ethical, and organizational standards.

Participate in awareness programs, parent workshops, and school/community outreach activities. Assist senior occupational therapists in research, training, or any ad hoc child-focused therapeutic projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Occupational Therapy and Rehabilitation, including assessment, intervention planning, and delivery of child-focused therapeutic programs.
  • Candidates should possess foundational knowledge in Pediatrics, with the ability to understand developmental conditions, medical reports, and multidisciplinary care plans.
  • Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear documentation, collaborative teamwork, and sensitive, family-centred interaction with children and caregivers.
  • Relevant academic qualifications such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution, with appropriate registration or licensure where applicable.
  • Experience in pediatric practice, early intervention, or child development settings, preferably in a multidisciplinary clinic or hospital environment.
  • Ability to work on-site in Bengaluru, manage a structured caseload, and maintain high standards of ethical and evidence-based clinical practice.
  • Strong observational skills, clinical reasoning, and an interest in continuous learning, research-informed practice, and professional development.
