Major Responsibilities
This position encompasses clinical care, professional practice, and leadership responsibilities, ensuring safe, high-quality, and patient-centered outcomes. Licensure
- Active Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the State of Illinois.
- PA: Masters degree or equivalent in Physician Assistant studies (effective January 1, 2018).
- APRN: Masters in Nursing with current national certification in the appropriate specialty.
- P rior urology experience is strongly preferred but not required. Surgical or consult experience is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration and patient engagement.
- Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records.
- Current NCCPA certification (for PA) or national board certification (for APRN).
- Illinois Controlled Substance License within six months of hire.
- DEA registration eligibility and possession within six months of hire (may vary by site).
- Current BLS certification; PALS/ACLS certification as required by practice site.
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including on-call coverage, to meet patient and organizational needs.
- Capacity to work under pressure in challenging situations and respond quickly to patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Routine exposure to infectious specimens and patients, as well as potentially hazardous conditions.
- Competence in caring for patients across age groups, understanding developmental and aging patterns.
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds independently; patient handling equipment and team assistance required for heavier lifts.
