Physiotherapist
Diagnex · Kolkata metropolitan area, India
Job Description
Diagnex is hiring Physiotherapists for its patient-care and home healthcare services in Howrah. This is a field + office role designed for physiotherapists who want strong practical exposure to patient rehabilitation while working within a structured healthcare environment.
The selected physiotherapist will primarily provide physiotherapy services to patients at their homes or other assigned care locations across Howrah and nearby service areas. A part of the working schedule will also involve office-based responsibilities including patient coordination, treatment planning, documentation, progress reporting, scheduling, follow-ups, and communication with the wider healthcare team.
We are open to both fresh graduates and candidates with up to 1 year of relevant experience who have completed BPT or DPT. Openings are available for both male and female physiotherapists, and candidates who are looking to develop strong hands-on experience in home-based rehabilitation and multidisciplinary patient care are encouraged to apply.
The Physiotherapist will be responsible for assessing patients' mobility, pain, functional limitations, rehabilitation requirements, and overall progress within the professional scope of physiotherapy. Based on the patient's condition, prescribed rehabilitation goals, and clinical instructions, the physiotherapist will conduct appropriate therapeutic exercises, mobility training, strengthening, stretching, balance training, pain-management interventions, and other relevant rehabilitation activities.
The role involves regularly monitoring patient progress across sessions and adapting the rehabilitation approach where clinically appropriate. Physiotherapists will also educate patients and family members regarding exercises, posture, mobility techniques, precautions, and home-based rehabilitation practices that can support continued recovery between scheduled sessions.
Accurate documentation is an important part of the position. The selected candidate will be expected to maintain records of each physiotherapy session, including patient observations, exercises performed, progress made, clinical concerns, and follow-up requirements. Daily visit reports and other required patient-care documentation must be completed accurately and on time.
The physiotherapist will coordinate with doctors, nurses, caregivers, patient coordinators, and other members of the healthcare team whenever required. Any significant change in a patient's condition or concern requiring further medical review must be identified and escalated promptly to the appropriate clinical team.
Professional patient interaction is essential. Candidates must maintain appropriate communication and behaviour during every home visit while following hygiene, infection-control, and patient-safety protocols. Depending on operational requirements, the role may also involve office-based review meetings, coordination of upcoming patient schedules, follow-up communication, and other patient-care support activities.
This is not a clinic-only physiotherapy position . The selected candidate must be comfortable travelling within Howrah and nearby assigned service areas for patient visits.
A typical working day may include multiple home physiotherapy sessions along with office reporting, patient coordination, documentation, and scheduling. Candidates should therefore be comfortable managing both hands-on patient care and a field-based working schedule .
Candidates must have completed a recognised Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) or Diploma in Physiotherapy (DPT) qualification before joining. Applicants should possess sound fundamentals in physiotherapy assessment, exercise therapy, rehabilitation, mobility management, and patient handling.
The required experience range is 0–1 year , and fresh graduates are welcome to apply. Candidates with internship or practical exposure in hospitals, rehabilitation centres, physiotherapy clinics, home healthcare, or patient-care environments will have an advantage.
Candidates with knowledge or practical exposure in areas such as patient assessment, exercise therapy, pain management, mobility training, geriatric physiotherapy, post-operative rehabilitation, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, neurological rehabilitation, home physiotherapy, patient communication, clinical documentation, and field patient care will be preferred.
Junior candidates are not expected to be specialists across every area of physiotherapy. Strong fundamentals, responsible patient handling, clinical discipline, professionalism, and a willingness to learn are more important for this position.
We are looking for physiotherapists who are patient, responsible, disciplined, and confident while interacting directly with patients and their families . The ideal candidate should be able to communicate clearly, follow treatment instructions carefully, observe changes in patient condition, and maintain professional standards throughout every interaction.
Candidates should also be punctual, organised with documentation, comfortable travelling for patient visits, and willing to work within a structured healthcare system. A genuine interest in patient recovery and rehabilitation is essential.
Openings are available for both Male and Female Physiotherapists . Patient assignments may be allocated based on clinical requirements, patient preference, location, schedule, and availability.
The position is based in Howrah, West Bengal , with regular field visits to patients across Howrah and nearby assigned service areas. Candidates should preferably be based in Howrah or be able to commute comfortably throughout the required service area.
Salary will be determined based on qualification, practical exposure, relevant experience, and overall interview assessment. Details regarding field travel and other operational terms will be discussed during the interview process.
