Job Description

Salary: $60,000 - 75,000 per year Requirements:

  • We are looking for 3+ years of experience in a NOC, help desk, or IT operations role supporting networks and end-user productivity services.
  • We need working knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals, subnetting, VLANs, routing concepts, and common troubleshooting methods.
  • We require experience supporting Microsoft 365/Office 365 applications, including Teams, Outlook/Exchange Online, SharePoint, and OneDrive, along with familiarity with MFA, SSO, and basic conditional access.
  • We value familiarity with networking hardware administration and troubleshooting, including switches, routers, firewalls, wireless systems, and interpreting logs and alerts.
  • We expect experience with ticketing platforms and clear documentation of incidents and resolutions.
  • We look for strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to stay composed under pressure during outages.
  • We need the ability to follow change management procedures and written runbooks.
  • Preferred experience includes Microsoft 365 administration portals and tools, Entra ID user and group administration, monitoring tools such as Auvik and ConnectWise Automate, packet capture analysis, cloud networking concepts, hybrid environments, and industry certifications such as Network+, Security+, Microsoft, or CCNA.
  • An IT background with 3 years of experience is required.
  • HIPAA certification for healthcare environments is preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • We monitor network and system health using ConnectWise Automate, Auvik, and logging tools, triage alarms, assess impact, and start incident response.
  • We provide provisioning support through PAX-8 and Tier 1-2 support for Microsoft 365 services and applications, including user access issues, service interruptions, connectivity concerns, and basic configuration troubleshooting.
  • We support networking hardware and services such as routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers and access points, VPN, DNS/DHCP, and load balancers, while handling initial troubleshooting and vendor or ISP escalation.
  • We follow standard operating procedures for routine work such as account provisioning support, distribution lists, shared mailboxes, certificate checks, backup and restore coordination, patch windows, and device health checks.
  • We manage incident tickets by responding, creating, updating, prioritizing, and closing them, while accurately recording troubleshooting steps, root cause details when known, and customer communications.
  • We escalate complex issues to Tier 3 Network, Systems, and Cloud teams with supporting evidence such as logs, packet captures when applicable, timelines, and impact assessments.
  • We handle Office 365 administration tasks within scope, including license assignment support, mailbox troubleshooting, Teams calling and client issues, and service health monitoring through the Microsoft 365 admin center.
  • We create and edit PowerShell scripts for troubleshooting and application deployment.
  • We maintain monitoring integrations such as SNMP, syslog, NetFlow, and API-based monitoring, and keep alert thresholds and runbooks up to date.
  • We assist with network and Office 365 performance reporting, trend analysis, and capacity or availability metrics for SLA and SLO tracking.
  • We support security operations by following alerting and containment procedures, validating suspicious activity, and partnering with security teams for remediation.
  • We maintain accurate inventory, diagrams, IP addressing documentation, and operational runbooks, and contribute to process improvement and knowledge base articles.

More:

We support enterprise network infrastructure and Microsoft Office 365 services to maintain high availability, performance, and security in a 9-to-5 NOC environment. This is a 100% in-house role with occasional customer site visits. Our standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, though some shift work in a 24x7 environment may occasionally be needed, including nights, weekends, holidays, on-call coverage, and approved after-hours maintenance windows. The role is office-based with extended screen time and may occasionally involve lifting up to 30 lbs. We offer a pay range of $60,000 to $75,000 per year and benefits including a 401(k), dental insurance, a flexible schedule, and a retirement plan.
