GENERAL PURPOSE: The Instructional Designer (ID) collaborates with Subject Matter Experts to develop quality online courses for Uo People. The Instructional Designer will utilize proven andragogical methods and current tools to create interactive and engaging content for students. Courses are developed with full accessibility and by the university standards. Instructional Designers act as the liaison between Department Chairs, Faculty, and Subject Matter Experts and the internal teams involved in the design and development of engaging courses

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES : Works with Subject Matter Experts on the design and development of the Uo People online course s. Provides expertise in instructional planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of online learning course s. Reviews online course materials for copyright and ADA and Section 508 complianc e. Collaborates with the Course Developer team to develop accessible, engaging, and interactive content element s. Ensures the application and integration of appropriate teaching and learning theory and distance learning principles into a fully online course development proces s. Assists with the selection of instructional materials and the design and use of learning tools and activities for an interactive online environmen t. Provides guidance and assistance for the creation of effective and meaningful assessments of student learnin g. Contributes to the identification of high-quality open education resources (OER ). Provides direction on the design and development of all course elements, including syllabi, course learning outcomes, and curricular mappin g. QUALIFICATIO NS: Master’s degree in instructional design or related field preferred, but not requir ed. Bachelor’s degree required in instructional design or related fie ld. Relevant certifications in education and/or educational technology are acceptab le.1-3 years’ experience requir ed. Fluency in languages is a plus, specifically Arabic and Spani sh. Ability to manage time, projects, and resources to achieve goa ls. Excellent written and oral communication skills in Engli sh. Working knowledge of basic instructional design principl es. Some technical skills, including a basic knowledge of HTML, Internet research, Open Educational Resources (OERs), and educational web too ls. Proven abilities in curriculum development and instructional desi gn. Interest in the implementation of innovative, creative course delivery metho ds. Familiarity with the OSCQR rubric preferred, but not requir
