Role -Cloud Database Administrator (Postgre SQL | Azure | AWS)
Skill Set -Postgre SQL (13.x to latest), Azure Database for Postgre SQL Flexible Server, AWS RDS/Aurora Postgre SQL, performance tuning, query execution plan analysis, cloud database migrations, Postgre SQL major version upgrades, backup/restore and disaster recovery, Linux, scripting (Shell/Python/Power Shell), Ia C (Terraform/ARM/Cloud Formation)

Strong hands-on experience with Postgre SQL (13.x to latest versions) Expertise in Azure Postgre SQL Flexible Server and AWS RDS / Aurora Postgre SQL Strong database performance tuning and optimization skills Query execution plan analysis, indexing, and troubleshooting expertise Proven experience in cloud database migrations and Postgre SQL major version upgrades Knowledge of backup/restore strategies, HA/DR implementations, and PITR Familiarity with Linux environments and database internals Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Ability to work in high-pressure production environments Excellent communication and stakeholder managementGood‐to‐Have
Experience with Kubernetes (AKS/EKS) and stateful workloads Knowledge of KEDA, HPA/VPA for DB-related workloads Exposure to encryption technologies (KMS, Key Vault, CMK) Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana Exposure to multi-tenant architectures and cross-subscription/tenant setups Experience in cost optimization initiatives Documentation and reporting skills for RCA, audits, and compliance Preferred certifications: Microsoft Azure Database / Administrator, AWS Certified Database Specialty or Solutions Architect, Postgre SQL certificationsResponsibilities / Expectations from the Role

Responsibility

Manage and support Postgre SQL databases on Azure Database for Postgre SQL (Flexible Server) and AWS RDS / Aurora Postgre SQL.

Perform database provisioning, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, backup/restore, and ensure HA/DR readiness.

Analyze and optimize database performance using query tuning, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, and monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, AWS Cloud Watch, and pg_stat_* views.

Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks related to CPU, memory, I/O, locks, and capacity planning.

Administer cloud-native database services including scaling, storage optimization, cost optimization, networking, security groups, IAM/RBAC, encryption, audit logs, and access control.

Plan and execute database migration projects including on-prem to cloud and cross-cloud migrations using Azure DMS, AWS DMS, and native Postgre SQL replication.

Plan and execute Postgre SQL major version upgrades with minimal downtime, including compatibility checks, blue-green or replica-based strategies, and post-upgrade validation.

Automate DBA tasks using Shell scripting, Python, or Power Shell and implement Infrastructure as Code where applicable.

Work closely with application teams, Dev Ops engineers, and cloud architects; provide L2/L3 production support, participate in incident RCA, and contribute to runbooks and SOPs.

Drive success metrics including database uptime, query performance improvements, migration success with minimal downtime, upgrade success without regression, and cost optimization achieved.
