Job Description

Build a High-Impact Litigation Career as a Paralegal in Complex Medical Malpractice Defense.

Opportunity Overview:

Adam & McGrevey is seeking an experienced, exceptionally organized Litigation Paralegal to support a busy lead attorney handling sophisticated medical malpractice and personal injury defense matters. This is an in-person opportunity in Overland Park, Kansas, for a legal professional who enjoys owning critical case details, working with medical evidence, and helping drive matters from intake through trial. You will gain meaningful exposure to complex litigation while contributing directly to a focused, respected practice.

What You Will Do:

  • You will manage litigation calendars, court deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial dates across Kansas, Missouri, and federal courts with precision and urgency.
  • You will prepare, produce, file, and organize polished pleadings, motions, discovery materials, subpoenas, correspondence, and other legal documents in compliance with applicable court rules.
  • You will request, review, index, and summarize substantial medical records, billing records, insurance lien materials, and case documentation.
  • You will coordinate with medical experts, including supporting retention activities, transferring records, and scheduling depositions and trial testimony.
  • You will provide hands-on trial preparation by assembling exhibit binders, trial notebooks, witness materials, and digital presentations.
  • You will maintain accurate case files, document management systems, and daily billable-time entries using Tabs3 and PointOne software.

Required Qualifications:

  • You bring at least three to five years of litigation paralegal, legal assistant, or litigation support experience, ideally involving medical malpractice or complex personal injury defense.
  • You have demonstrated skill with legal document preparation, document production, drafting, legal research and writing, discovery, and subpoena preparation under attorney supervision.
  • You are proficient in electronic filing and docketing procedures for Kansas, Missouri, and federal courts.
  • You possess outstanding attention to detail, strong calendar management habits, and the ability to prioritize competing deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment.
  • You can work on-site daily in our Overland Park office and communicate professionally with attorneys, court personnel, clients, experts, and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A paralegal certificate, formal paralegal education, or equivalent advanced litigation experience will help you excel in this role.
  • Experience with eDiscovery, medical chronologies, claims documentation, document management, and trial technology is valued.
  • Confidence using modern legal technology, including artificial intelligence tools used responsibly to support legal workflows, is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits:

This full-time Paralegal position offers an annual salary of $60,000 to $70,000, based on experience and qualifications. Your benefits package includes health, dental, vision, and life insurance; 401(k); health savings account; medical and dependent care flexible spending accounts; holiday pay; and short-term and long-term disability coverage.
