Job Description

Position Title: Training & Placement Officer

Location: Durgapur, West Bengal (Hybrid opportunity for Kolkata based candidates)

Employment Type: Full-time

Role Purpose:

To support the CDC&CO Head in enabling successful internship and placement opportunities for students by coordinating employer engagement, facilitating student preparedness, and ensuring smooth execution of placement related activities. The Placement Officer acts as a critical link between students, academic departments, and recruiters, working towards maximizing employability and internship outcomes aligned with institutional goals and market trends.

Roles and Responsibilities:

 Employer Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Assist in building and maintaining ongoing relationships with industry partners, corporate recruiters, and alumni networks to facilitate placements and internships.
  • Coordinate campus drives, recruitment events, internship fairs, and employer visits to enhance institutional visibility and recruiter Connect.
  • Act as a primary contact point for recruiters during placement activity phases; ensure clear communication and smooth coordination.

 Student Support and Preparation

  • Assist students in understanding placement processes, eligibility criteria, and job/internship opportunities.
  • Coordinate pre-placement training sessions, workshops, and soft skills development initiatives in sync with CDC&CO strategies.
  • Maintain records of student placements, internships, and feedback for continuous improvement.

 Placement Operations

  • Manage placement schedules and calendars for various academic departments; ensure timely dissemination of placement notifications and updates.
  • Coordinate logistics for recruitment events, including venue arrangements, candidate communication, and documentation.
  • Support the processing and verification of student profiles, registration details, and placement outcomes.

 Data Management and Reporting

  • Maintain databases of recruiters, placement activities, student participation, and placement statistics.
  • Assist in preparing periodic placement reports and provide data inputs for institutional rankings and accreditation purposes.
  • Capture recruiter and student feedback to optimize placement processes and address gaps

 Collaboration and Coordination

  • Work closely with academic departments, CDC&CO team members, and external stakeholders to align student skill development with placement needs.
  • Support placement outreach efforts via job portals, alumni networks, and external internship platforms.
  • Contribute to employer branding and institutional marketing initiatives related to placements.

Eligibility and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline; a postgraduate degree or diploma in career counselling, HR, or related field is desirable.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in campus placements, student career counselling, HR, or corporate relations in a higher education environment.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with placement management software, ERP systems, and MS Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with a student-centric approach. Performance Metrics
