<p>Chalk Point Generation Station, located in Aquasco, Maryland, is a major power generation facility with a total capacity of approximately 1618 MW. The station comprises nine units, including seven gas turbines, and two steam turbines. This configuration allows the station to effectively meet regional energy demands. Opportunity Summary The Maintenance Supervisor leads the safe, reliable, and cost-effective execution of maintenance activities supporting Chalk Point Generation Station. This position supervises maintenance personnel, coordinates contractors, and manages preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and plant availability. Working closely with plant leadership, the Maintenance Supervisor supports outage planning, regulatory compliance, budget management, and continuous improvement initiatives that promote safe and efficient plant operations. Your scope of responsibility as Maintenance Supervisor will include the <b>following primary functions:</b> * Lead maintenance activities supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of production, auxiliary, and balance-of-plant equipment while protecting company assets. * Supervise, coach, and develop maintenance personnel by assigning work, monitoring performance, conducting evaluations, and fostering professional growth. * Promote compliance with Environmental, Health &amp; Safety (EH&amp;S) programs, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements, and all applicable company policies and regulatory standards. * Develop, prioritize, and execute preventive, predictive, corrective, and outage maintenance plans that improve equipment reliability and minimize unplanned downtime. * Coordinate planned outages and major maintenance activities with Operations, Engineering, contractors, and vendors to ensure safe, efficient, and timely execution. * Oversee contractor performance, including scope development, scheduling, quality assurance, safety compliance, and cost control. * Manage warehouse inventory and coordinate procurement of critical spare parts, equipment, and maintenance materials. * Monitor maintenance costs, assist with budget development, and recommend improvements that enhance reliability while optimizing maintenance expenditures. * Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, and performance data to support reporting, planning, and continuous improvement. * Participate in inspections, audits, and compliance activities while identifying opportunities to improve maintenance practices and plant performance. * Supervise the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, motors, and plant distribution equipment. * Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of plant control systems, including DCS, PLC, SCADA, instrumentation, and associated field devices. * Support control system diagnostics, software updates, calibrations, and system modifications that improve reliability and operational efficiency. * Review and maintain maintenance procedures, work instructions, and documentation that support safe and consistent work execution. * Perform other duties as assigned in support of safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. Working Relationships The Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager, receives general direction from plant management, supervises maintenance personnel, and collaborates with all other plant personnel. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, climbing stairs and ladders, working from elevated platforms and walkways at varying heights, and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds. Power plant environment that may involve entering confined spaces, crawling through narrow areas, and handling hazardous materials, with exposure to fumes, extreme temperatures, and noise. Work may include high heat near equipment and varying outdoor weather conditions. Some duties may require the use of protective equipment, which can include hard hats, safety glasses, and eye protection, air masks/respirators, ear protection, chemical suits, flame-resistant clothing (FRC), hot gloves, high-voltage protective gear, and fall protection. Fit testing for respirators may be required. Strict smoking restrictions apply in and around the facility. Fitness for Duty All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. Work Schedule The Maintenance Supervisor works a standard Monday to Friday day-shift schedule, ensuring consistent plant operation and support during regular business hours. This position will also occasionally necessitate extended working hours and flexible shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays, in response to schedules, workload demands, and plant conditions. Periodic callouts or “On call” status will also be required. Compensation Initial compensation will range from $151,000 to $175,000 and will include eligibility for an annual performance bonus. Technical Qualifications and Leadership Competencies * High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in power plant technology, industrial maintenance, engineering technology, or a related technical field preferred; equivalent military or industry experience considered. * Extensive experience maintaining mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems in a power generation or other heavy industrial environment. * Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, including turbines, pumps, compressors, motors, valves, heat exchangers, and balance-of-plant systems. * Experience developing and administering preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs that improve equipment reliability and plant availability. * Proficiency troubleshooting and maintaining electrical power distribution equipment, motor control centers, transformers, switchgear, and associated plant systems. * Working knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), PLCs, SCADA, instrumentation, and plant control system diagnostics and optimization. * Demonstrated leadership experience supervising maintenance personnel, coordinating contractors, and promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. * Strong planning, organizational, and communication skills, with experience supporting outage planning, inventory management, budgeting, and maintenance reporting. * Thorough understanding of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), environmental requirements, and applicable OSHA and industry safety practices. * Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license and ensure it remains in good standing at all times.
