Salary: $150,000 - 180,000 per year Requirements:

• We need strong Swift and SwiftUI skills, with proven experience shipping iPad or iOS apps and a solid sense for touch-first UX and UI.
• We need hands-on experience with Swift Concurrency, including async/await, actors, and structured concurrency.
• We need a testable, decoupled architecture and comfort working with mocks and abstractions instead of relying on hardware.
• We need experience integrating on-device ML, such as CoreML, including loading models, running inference on image frames, and using outputs for overlays.
• We need experience working with REST APIs, secure uploads, token-based authentication, and Swift Package Manager.
• We need experience using XCTest and keeping simulator builds stable.
• We expect AI-assisted development to be part of your daily workflow, with the judgment to know when generated output is correct and when it is not.
• Nice-to-have experience includes peripheral or hardware SDK integration such as BLE or CoreBluetooth, Wi-Fi peripheral pairing, or streaming media pipelines.
• Nice-to-have experience includes work with ultrasound, medical devices, or imaging apps.
• Nice-to-have experience includes strong visual or interaction design instincts, or close collaboration with designers.
• Nice-to-have experience includes XcodeGen or similar reproducible project-generation tooling.
• Nice-to-have experience includes de-identified or regulated data handling on device, including Keychain use and exclusion of data from backups.
• Nice-to-have experience includes Metal, Accelerate, or other performance tuning for real-time image display.

• We own the native iPad app, including the capture experience, UX, real-time imaging pipeline, on-device ML inference, and secure upload flow to the backend.
• We design and build the live capture experience, including navigation guidance, quality prompts, and capture confirmation, in close collaboration with design and the clinical team.
• We integrate live ultrasound imaging from a handheld probe through the vendor SDK, including BLE discovery, Wi-Fi joining, and B-mode streaming.
• We keep the imaging boundary behind a protocol so development and testing can continue in the simulator using a mock imaging source.
• We run on-device navigation and segmentation models to recognize views, score image quality, and drive guidance overlays in real time.
• We support two capture streams: a user-confirmed diagnostic stream and a consent-gated background sampling stream for model improvement.
• We upload captured data securely and reliably while ensuring it remains de-identified, with only UUIDs and a numeric research ID leaving the device.
• We manage secure device authentication, with tokens stored in the Keychain.
• We work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and report directly to the CTO.

You will work alongside a Machine Learning Engineer and a Full-stack Engineer, with shared versioned contracts defining the seams between systems. The compensation range is $150,000 to $180,000 per year, with dental and health insurance, and the work location is hybrid remote in Cambridge, MA 02142.
