We are looking for team members who are ready to be empowered to go above and beyond…Status: Non-Exempt Reports to: F&B ManagerJOB SUMMARYThe Bartender prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a friendly, efficient, and responsible manner, while maintaining a clean and organized bar area and delivering an exceptional guest experience consistent with Lone Star Court's hospitality standards.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & FUNCTIONSOperational ResponsibilitiesPrepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes; maintain accurate par levels and restock bar inventory; operate the POS system to enter orders and process payments accurately; maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, including glassware, garnishes, and equipment; set up and break down the bar area for each shift.Guest ServicesGreet guests warmly and promptly; make beverage recommendations; check identification to verify legal drinking age; monitor guest alcohol consumption and intervene professionally when necessary; resolve guest concerns or escalate to a manager as needed.Team Support and TrainingCommunicate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely, accurate service; assist in training new bartenders and barbacks on drink recipes and bar procedures.Communication and ReportingReport low inventory, equipment issues, or maintenance needs to the F&B Manager; communicate nightly sales and any incidents at the end of each shift.Safety & ComplianceMaintain current TABC certification; maintain current food handlers certification; follow all responsible alcohol service laws and hotel policies; adhere to health and sanitation standards for food and beverage handling. Be in compliance with hotel trainings and attend required meetings.QualificationsESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSStrong verbal and written communication skillsEffective time management and problem-solving skillsProficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systemsAbility to work well with a team and demonstrate attention to detailExcellent organizational skills and interpersonal abilitiesWorking knowledge of classic and craft cocktail recipes and proper pouring and measuring techniques; current TABC certification and Food Handler's certificationPhysical RequirementsSitting: RareStanding/Walking: Frequent to constant throughout the shift, often on hard surfacesLifting/Carrying: Up to 50 lbs, including kegs, liquor cases, beer cases, and iceOther Physical Requirements: Frequent reaching, bending, and repetitive hand motion while mixing and pouring drinksWorking EnvironmentInterior: Bar, lounge, and Pavilion/pool bar areasExterior: May include outdoor bar or pool deck service, with exposure to Texas heat and weather conditionsBASICSMaintain cleanliness and organization in all work areasDisplay courteous behavior with guests and team membersReport any unsafe conditions immediatelyEnsure hotel equipment is in proper working conditionAttend required meetingsFollow company policies and proceduresPerform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisorCANDIDATE PROFILEEducation and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum 1 year of bartending experience in a hotel, restaurant, or bar setting preferred; must be 18 years of age or older (21+ where required by law).Acknowledgment I have read and understand the job description as stated above and accept that tasks may be modified as needed.
