Brief SummaryTitle : Staff Accountant
You'll Report To : General Accounting Manager
The Staff Accountant supports daily transaction processing, month-end close activities, financial reporting, and the preparation of financial statements.
What Youll Do- Prepare journal entries and complete balance sheet reconciliations as part of general ledger responsibilities.
- Manage accounts payable accurately and on time, including entering invoices, securing approvals, and submitting payment batches for review and approval.
- Daily and monthly transaction matching in Blackline Systems to support general ledger reconciliations.
- Follow internal controls and maintain appropriate supporting documentation.
- Review employee reimbursement submissions in SAP Concur
- Prepare financial and other reports related to GAAP and STAT filings.
- Prepare assigned audit workpapers and support audit requests.
- Assist and provide backup support for finance and accounting functions as needed.
- Maintain job knowledge through educational and professional development opportunities.
- Complete special projects and other assigned duties.
What Youll Need to be a Top Candidate
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a four-year institution.
Experience: One (1) to Five (5) years of staff accounting experience, preferred. Prior experience with an insurance carrier is strongly desired.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word), required.
- Blackline Systems experience with close management, reconciliations and/or transaction matching modules, preferred.
- IAS / FIS Global - Enterprise Accounting System (EAS), formerly known as SunGard, experience, preferred.
- Guidewire InsuranceNow experience, preferred.
- SAP Concur experience, preferred.
- Effective communication skills.
- Exceptional organization skills.
- Meticulous, committed to professionalism.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm, full-time in-office. #LI-Onsite.
Working Conditions : Normal business office environment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time while constantly operating a computer and or other office productivity machinery such as a calculator or telephone. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery or communicate with coworkers.
Travel: Minimum, as required.
