The role involves implementing, administering, maintaining, monitoring and continuously improving enterprise SAS platforms , while ensuring platform availability, performance, reliability, security and smooth operation across a global delivery environment.

Role Overview

As a SAS Administrator , you will be responsible for the implementation, administration, maintenance and operational support of enterprise SAS platforms .

You will ensure the smooth functioning of the SAS environment, support business analytics platforms, manage metadata security and user administration, monitor system performance, troubleshoot infrastructure and platform issues, and handle incidents, service requests and change requests.

You will also contribute to improving platform performance, reliability, security, automation and operational efficiency , while providing SAS Administration expertise to internal teams and customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide SAS Administration and SAS Operations Support to relevant operational entities.
• Maintain enterprise SAS platforms supporting business analytics workloads.
• Manage SAS Metadata Security .
• Perform User, Group and Project Administration .
• Create and manage database libraries, Oracle connections, database interfaces and related integrations .
• Troubleshoot issues relating to SAS platforms and supporting infrastructure .
• Monitor server logs, system performance and platform health .
• Monitor and ensure smooth execution of SAS Business Intelligence platforms .
• Provide Level 2 support to users and customers.
• Identify and troubleshoot application, web-interface and backend server issues.
• Manage SAS Metadata and Configuration .
• Support installation and administration of SAS environments .
• Perform daily SAS Platform Health Checks .
• Monitor Linux Server activities .
• Perform regular platform maintenance activities .
• Handle customer tickets covering Incidents, Changes and Service Requests .
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, task records and operational reports .
• Work with global teams and customers in an international delivery environment.

Key Skills and Experience

• Minimum 4 years of hands-on SAS Administration experience – Mandatory.
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux – Mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of SAS Platform Administration and Operations .
• Experience with SAS Metadata Management and Security .
• Experience with SAS configuration, installation and environment administration .
• Experience supporting SAS Business Intelligence platforms .
• Good understanding of Linux server administration and monitoring .
• Experience handling Incident and Change Management using tools such as ServiceNow .
• Experience troubleshooting enterprise SAS platform and infrastructure issues.
• Good understanding of Infrastructure Security Principles .
• Good Networking knowledge , including:
• Routing
• IP
• TCP
• Experience working in a global delivery model for international clients .
• Strong customer-management and stakeholder-management capabilities.
• Fluent English with good verbal and written communication skills.

Good to Have

• SAS Administrator Certification will be highly appreciated.
• Knowledge or hands-on experience with BI platforms/tools such as:
• SAS
• MicroStrategy (MSTR)
• Power BI
• Exposure to Azure Synapse will be an added advantage.
• Experience in enterprise infrastructure and platform-support environments.
• Exposure to automation and continuous improvement of platform operations.

Candidate Profile

• 4–5 years of relevant SAS Administration experience .
• Strong hands-on capability in SAS Administration and Linux .
• Good understanding of enterprise infrastructure, networking and security principles.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis ability.
• Experience working with incidents, changes and service requests.
• Comfortable supporting business-critical technology platforms.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with global teams.
• Strong customer-facing and communication skills.
• Comfortable working in an international enterprise delivery environment.
• Candidates should be open to working from Pune or Trivandrum , depending on project requirements.

Preferred Candidates

• Candidates with 4–5 years of strong SAS Administration experience .
• Candidates with hands-on expertise in Linux .
• Candidates experienced in SAS Metadata, configuration, platform administration and operations support .
• Candidates with experience handling Incidents, Changes and Service Requests using ServiceNow or similar tools .
• Candidates with good knowledge of Networking, Routing, IP and TCP .
• Candidates experienced in supporting international customers through a global delivery model .
• Candidates holding a SAS Administrator Certification will have an advantage.
• Exposure to SAS BI, MicroStrategy, Power BI or Azure Synapse will be preferred.
• Candidates currently based in or willing to work from Pune / Trivandrum will be preferred.

Preferred Qualification

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering , or a related discipline.
