Job Description The Precon Manager will be responsible for: Lead preconstruction efforts from conceptual budgeting through final proposal submission Develop accurate cost estimates and project budgets Collaborate with operations, design teams, subcontractors, and ownership groups Participate in client meetings and project presentations Support business development initiatives and help secure new project opportunities Evaluate project risks, constructability concerns, and value engineering options Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and trade partners Assist in developing pursuit strategies for targeted projects Manage multiple preconstruction assignments simultaneously while meeting deadlines MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law. The Successful Applicant The successful Precon Manager will have the following experience: 5-10 years of preconstruction, estimating, or construction management experience Proven ability to support project pursuits and help win new business Experience presenting to clients and participating in stakeholder meetings Strong communication and relationship-building skills Background working on commercial construction projects Ability to develop budgets, estimates, and conceptual pricing Proficient with industry-standard estimating and preconstruction tools Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred What's on Offer The Precon Manager will receive: Base salary up to $160,000 Discretionary annual bonus (historically averaging around 10%) Long-term career growth with a stable and expanding organization Opportunity to work on high-profile projects throughout North Carolina
