Data Collection Researcher IIIAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Data Collection Researcher III to join a robotics research team focused on advancing humanoid robot capabilities. In this hands-on role, you will operate a humanoid robot through teleoperation interfaces to perform manipulation tasks and collect high-quality demonstration data used to train and improve robotic learning models.This position is ideal for someone with a background or strong interest in robotics, virtual reality (VR), and artificial intelligence who enjoys hands-on technical work, detailed processes, and contributing to innovative robotics research.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate a humanoid robot using teleoperation interfaces, including VR controllers or similar control systems, to perform manipulation tasks such as grasping, placing, and tool use.Execute structured data collection protocols consistently and accurately across repeated tasks.Annotate and label collected data according to established guidelines, maintaining high standards for accuracy and quality.Follow detailed task instructions and maintain accurate records of data collection sessions.Monitor robot behavior and identify potential hardware issues, safety concerns, or data anomalies, escalating findings to the appropriate engineering team.Provide feedback to improve teleoperation workflows, task execution, and data collection processes.Collaborate with internal team members to support ongoing robotics research and development initiatives.Basic QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.At least 2 years of robotics-related experience.Strong hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and ability to maintain focus during repetitive tasks.Interest in robotics, artificial intelligence, and data collection.Ability to follow detailed procedures, maintain accurate records, and adhere to established safety protocols.Reliable, punctual, and able to work full-time on-site.Preferred QualificationsExperience with VR systems, gaming controllers, or robotic teleoperation interfaces.Previous experience in a robotics lab, research, data collection, or operations environment.Strong communication skills and the ability to provide clear, actionable feedback.Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively through ambiguity.Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field.Work Schedule and EnvironmentSchedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.Hours: 40 hours per week.Location: On-site at a robotics research facility in the Bellevue, Washington area.Contract Duration: 12 months, with potential for extension or conversion.Training: Approximately one week of hands-on onboarding and training.Overtime: Not regularly expected; any overtime requires prior approval.Join a team advancing the future of robotics by helping generate the high-quality data that enables robots to learn, adapt, and perform increasingly complex tasks.

The pay range that Tundra in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $35/hour - $41/hour.
