About Bloom Social
Bloom Social is a social media agency in Grand Rapids. We manage about 35 brands, including manufacturers, healthcare organizations, professional services firms, local small businesses, and the personal brands of business owners and executives. Our specialists write, design, and schedule content for those clients every month.
The role
We’re a social media agency, so this is a social media video job. We’re looking for someone who knows how to make a vertical video that holds attention for 30 seconds on someone’s phone. Weddings, documentaries, and corporate films take real skill, but that isn’t what this seat does. If you already catch yourself studying the cuts and hooks in Reels, and why one video keeps people watching while another loses them in two seconds, you’ll fit in well here.
You’ll plan and lead the scheduled shoots for our clients at their offices, job sites, and events, then edit that footage into short-form video and photos the team can post. Quick phone captures still stay with our account specialists. Your work is the planned shoots, where preparation and production quality make the difference.
You’ll also set the standard for how video looks and gets cut across Bloom, manage any outside editors we bring in, and keep our media organized so anyone creating content can find what they need.
What you’ll do
Decide what each shoot needs to capture, based on the client’s content strategy, so the footage actually gets usedBuild a prep document for every shoot, including shot list, location, timing, who’s on camera, gear, and client requirementsLead shoots on location from arrival through wrap, usually within 60 miles of Grand RapidsEdit short-form video for Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts, and edit the photos from each shootSet the editing standards and look the rest of the team followsManage any outsourced video editors we work with, including assigning the work and reviewing what they deliverDeliver finished files on schedule in formats that are ready to postKeep raw and finished files organized and labeled in Google DriveMaintain our equipment, handle transport and setup, and flag when something needs repair or replacingWrite captions for the videos you produce when an account needs it
